21 Upcoming Cars for 2021 in India
As 2020 ends the excitement for Upcoming cars of 2021 has begun. We have brought a list of 21 cars which you should be keeping your eye on for 2021. Also at the end know how you can be updated with the launch news of these cars which we are going to mention in this article.
Tata Gravitas
Tata Gravitas is a car that we have seen at the Auto Expo and we expect Tata to launch it soon. It is a 7 seater version of the Harrier. Tata Harrier is one of the best SUVs in its class in terms of safety and features. There are other cars in this list who we are expecting as a competition for the Tata Harrier.
Gravitas 2021 might directly rival the MG hector Plus. The price range is not confirmed but we will keep you updated on all the news about this 7-seater.

Tata HBX
Tata HBX is a small SUV which will sit below the Tata Nexon in the lineup. The HBX was also shown at the Auto Expo 2020 and has been spotted a number of times while doing test runs. The car will have a competitor from Hyundai which also makes its way in this list further ahead.
As of now, the HBX does not have a direct rival and this makes for a great launch timing for Tata. It would do wonders if it is launched in the first quarter of 2021. Know more about the HBX in the article below where we talk about what is been seen on the test mule.
Hyundai Creta 7-Seater
Hyundai Creta 7-seater is being called the Hyundai Alcazar. This is expected to launch in the second half of 2021. The Creta is an important car for Hyundai currently. With strong products like Venue and Creta in each segment, they also want to dominate the remaining segments. So the Creta 7-seater is expected to dominate the segment above. Hyundai is also planning for a car which is will be an SUV and below the Hyundai Venue.

Maruti Celerio Next Gen
The new generation of the Maruti Celerio has been spotted while testing. The Celerio was the first car which had been introduced with an AMT and with this update we expect Maruti to take it to the next level. Also with next-gen Maruti Celerio, it is expected to use the new HEARTECT platform. It is said to be rigid and safer than the previous platform.

Maruti XL5
The Maruti XL5 would be a Nexa product of the WagonR. Just like the Ertiga and XL6, the WagonR would be on the same lines. The engine and underpinnings of the car will remain the same. The Maruti XL5 will also have new colours when sold as XL5. Other changes on the car are not sure and we will have to wait for the launch to know more.
WagonR Electric
The WagonR Electric was spotted long back and it still has not been launched by Maruti. Maybe the company might be waiting for the charging infrastructure to be developed to launch an electric car. There are a few electric cars in India such as the MG ZS EV and the Tata Nexon EV. With the WagonR electric Maruti will enter in a different segment altogether. We are expecting the WagonR electric to have a lot of commercial uses such as fleet taxies.
MG ZS

Renault Kiger
One of the next Confirm launches in 2021 will be the Renault Kiger. Renault has virtually shown the concept of the car. It will be based on the Nissan Magnite which has been recently launched and we expect it to be the last launch of 2020. The Kiger might visually look like Triber from the front with the rear side like the Nissan Magnite.
Ford XUV500 – C segment
The Ford XUV500 is the C-segment SUV which would be launched in the Q1 of 2021. The new grille of the vehicle was spotted and it does show the new design. Mahindra XUV500
Mahindra XUV500 will launch in its next-generation soon. It is expected to have level 1 of assisted driver aids. Also, the new Mahindra logo is expected to launch in with this new generation of the Mahindra XUV500. The car has been spotted while doing test runs. Also, the Mahindra XUV500 will be slightly bigger than the previous generation.

Mahindra Scorpio 2021
Mahindra Scorpio will come as the Mahindra Scorpio Sting. It will also be bigger in dimension than the previous generation. The Mahindra Scorpio will also have slightly better and improved pricing and we are expecting it to become slightly expensive than the segment. Skoda Vision IN
The Skoda Vision IN will be the basis for Skoda’s new cars in 2021. It will be an SUV that will be specifically made for India. It will be based on the Skoda Kamiq. For now, the Skoda Kamiq has been spotted. The Kamiq will be launched as the CBU and then the Vision IN will replace it as an Indian made vehicle.
Skoda Rapid
Skoda Rapid next-gen will be launched after VW vento. It will be based on the same platform and visually there will be very few changes on both these sedans. The Skoda Rapid is expected to come around by the end of 2021. Currently, it is the most selling vehicle in the Skoda lineup.
VW Vento
The VW Vento will be expected to be launched before the new Skoda Rapid. Both these cars will have the same platform and powertrains. The only difference might be in the engine tuning and the power output. Also, the VW Vento might have different gearbox which will lead to the change in driving feel.

VW Taigun
VW Taigun will be launched soon as it is listed on the VW website as coming soon. Another thing about the VW Taigun is that it will rival the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Entering in this segment without the proper pricing might be a big problem and VW should not make the mistake of pricing it very high.

Hyundai AX
As mentioned earlier the Hyundai AX will be the Tata HBX competitor. Recently Hyundai has teased the Bayon and it is suspected that the AX will be based on the Bayon. Hyundai AX will make use of the Santro platform which is already localised in India. The Tata HBX is expected before this car and Hyundai India has not yet announced this car. All this would lead the Hyundai AX to have the benefit of correcting what Tata might have missed out.
Jeep Compass 7-Seater
Jeep compass 7 Seater is expected after the launch of the facelifted Jeep compass. Its pricing is expected to be higher than the segment and it will provide the premium features with the same. The Jeep compass 7-Seater will rival the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and MG Gloster. In short, it will be the full-size SUV from Jeep.
Citroen C5 AirCross
Citroen will launch the C5 Aircross soon in India. It has announced that the car is coming to India in the first quarter of 2021. It might have a 2-litre engine and rival the Tata Harrier and the MG Hector. The Aircross might also have some amount of autonomous driving systems.
Altroz EV
Altroz EV will mostly have the same electric specification like the Tata Nexon. It might have longer range and the battery management might be different. The Altroz EV was shown at the Auto Expo 2020. The Turbo petrol version of the Altroz was spotted a few times while testing and here is some news on it
Octavia 2021
The Octavia 2021 will come with the same 2.0-litre engine as the Skoda Superb. It is likely to have a single DSG gearbox option. The current Octavia is available as RS245 and only in limited units. Also, the new RS is expected to be a hybrid and might be quicker off the line but will have a smaller engine. The regular Octavia for 2021 will rival the Hyundai Elantra and Hond Civic.
Swift Hybrid
The Swift Hybrid in this list was a car that was showcased in at the Auto Expo 2020. It should have been launched this year but due to Covid-19 crisis, Maruti might have skipped its launch. Also, the Swift Hybrid has very good mileage for a petrol car of about 25km/l. We really expect this car to launch as soon as possible. It might become the most hit product in Maruti’s lineup.
