Tata HBX is a small SUV which will sit below the Tata Nexon in the lineup. The HBX was also shown at the Auto Expo 2020 and has been spotted a number of times while doing test runs. The car will have a competitor from Hyundai which also makes its way in this list further ahead.

Hyundai Creta 7-seater is being called the Hyundai Alcazar. This is expected to launch in the second half of 2021. The Creta is an important car for Hyundai currently. With strong products like Venue and Creta in each segment, they also want to dominate the remaining segments. So the Creta 7-seater is expected to dominate the segment above. Hyundai is also planning for a car which is will be an SUV and below the Hyundai Venue.

The new generation of the Maruti Celerio has been spotted while testing. The Celerio was the first car which had been introduced with an AMT and with this update we expect Maruti to take it to the next level. Also with next-gen Maruti Celerio, it is expected to use the new HEARTECT platform. It is said to be rigid and safer than the previous platform.

We are expecting the WagonR electric to have a lot of commercial uses such as fleet taxies.

One of the next Confirm launches in 2021 will be the Renault Kiger. Renault has virtually shown the concept of the car. It will be based on the Nissan Magnite which has been recently launched and we expect it to be the last launch of 2020. The Kiger might visually look like Triber from the front with the rear side like the Nissan Magnite.

The Skoda Vision IN will be the basis for Skoda’s new cars in 2021. It will be an SUV that will be specifically made for India. It will be based on the Skoda Kamiq. For now, the Skoda Kamiq has been spotted. The Kamiq will be launched as the CBU and then the Vision IN will replace it as an Indian made vehicle.

Skoda Rapid next-gen will be launched after VW vento. It will be based on the same platform and visually there will be very few changes on both these sedans. The Skoda Rapid is expected to come around by the end of 2021. Currently, it is the most selling vehicle in the Skoda lineup.

As mentioned earlier the Hyundai AX will be the Tata HBX competitor. Recently Hyundai has teased the Bayon and it is suspected that the AX will be based on the Bayon. Hyundai AX will make use of the Santro platform which is already localised in India. The Tata HBX is expected before this car and Hyundai India has not yet announced this car. All this would lead the Hyundai AX to have the benefit of correcting what Tata might have missed out.

Octavia 2021

The Octavia 2021 will come with the same 2.0-litre engine as the Skoda Superb. It is likely to have a single DSG gearbox option. The current Octavia is available as RS245 and only in limited units. Also, the new RS is expected to be a hybrid and might be quicker off the line but will have a smaller engine. The regular Octavia for 2021 will rival the Hyundai Elantra and Hond Civic.

The Swift Hybrid in this list was a car that was showcased in at the Auto Expo 2020. It should have been launched this year but due to Covid-19 crisis, Maruti might have skipped its launch. Also, the Swift Hybrid has very good mileage for a petrol car of about 25km/l. We really expect this car to launch as soon as possible. It might become the most hit product in Maruti’s lineup.
