The rumours of the 7-seater Hyundai Creta has been proven true. The spy shot of the SUV has been circulated online. The spy shot was taken in South Korea while the vehicle was on the test. Let’s see what can we uncover from this spy shot.

Looks / Exterior

It is clearly evident from the spy shot that the SUV is extended longer than our expectation. That should make Creta 7-seater look with a right proposition. Its side profile is expected to have very well meshed and not like an afterthought. We can clearly see the 17-inch alloys that differentiate a bit different from the 2020 Creta.  We have to say that it looks very splendid on the SUV.

7-seater Creta

From the front, the 7-seater SUV will have a bit different grille design, kind of similar to the Hyundai Aura. From the side and rear, it will have a clear distinction between Creta 5-seater. Overall, styling elements and design language will be the same as Creta 5-seater. However, the 7-seater Creta is expected with different colour options.

Features

The 7-seater Hyundai Creta is expected with a similar level of features as the 5-seater version. The SUV will have features like a panoramic sunroof, cruise mode, hill control assist, paddle shifters, etc.

The safety net will include multiple airbags, parking sensors, ISOFIX marking and many more.

It is supposed to have air vents for all three rows. There is one more visible change in the test car, that is front parking sensor which is missing in the Creta 2020.

Engine / Powertrain

The 7-seater Creta is expected with similar powertrain options as of 5-seater Creta. For instance, Creta 5-seater is available with three engine options- 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol. The 1.5-litre NA petrol is the least powerful engine among three producing around 113 bhp max power and 144 Nm of peak torque. While the 1.5-litre diesel produces around 113 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The most powerful among three, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol churns around 138 bhp max power and 242 Nm peak torque. Do watch this video to have an idea about the engine.

The transmission is where the SUV really shines as it is offered in multiple gearbox options. The gearbox option includes a 6-speed manual, CVT, 6-speed automatic torque converter and most exciting 7-speed DCT as well. The same engine option and gearbox options are currently shared with the Kia Seltos.

Price / Rivals

The pricing of the 7-seater Hyundai Creta is expected to be premium of Rs 1.5-2 lakhs over the 5-seater Creta. For reference, the current pricing of the Creta 5-seater starts at Rs 9.99 lakhs to 17.2 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom). Major rivals in the segment include Mahindra XUV 500, upcoming Tata Gravitas (7-seater version of Harrier) and also upcoming MG Hector plus.
