New Grill For Ford XUV 500 (Spyshots)

In spy shots reveled online, a new Ford with a unique grille hints at a upcoming new car.  We expect this grille revealed to belong to one of the Ford Mahindra products coming in 2021. In this article along with this new Ford grille, we take a look at the Ford XUV 500 to get a better insight into it.

The Ford Grille on this new upcoming car matches no other cars in their lineup. It has a completely different approach to design and looks very India specific with the chrome inserts. Also, the chrome inserts remind one of the XUV 500. Alongside the grille, we notice 3 strips of LED daytime running lights. Also towards the extreme outer end of the front bumper one can see vertically stacked assembly which may house the turn indicators and also the dog lamps.

How does the Tata Nexon perform off-road?

Another thing to notice is that there are no front parking sensors which indicate that this might not be the top variant for the lineup. The XUV 500 is expected to get 360 camera and all-around parking sensors but that might be seen only on the top variant. Similarly, Ford might present its lineup in the same way.

Engine Expectations

Engine on the Ford XUV 500 might be a 2.0-litre petrol engine along with a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The state of tune might be sportier than what is currently seen on the Mahindra Thar. There would also be a difference in the way Ford tunes their engine as compared to Mahindra. We are expecting a sporty approach from Ford and Mahindra to be more mileage oriented. This can only be confirmed when we know know more from the manufaturer.

Has MG Gloster become a threat to Ford Endeavour?

Also offering drive modes like Eco and Sport as seen on the Ford Endeavour might offer more flexibility. This new C-segment SUV might come as a 5-seater model where the XUV 500 might remain to be a 7 seater. This would be done to maintain the difference among products and also change the segments in which they compete. The Ford XUV 500 in the 5 seater version might compete with the Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and MG Hector. The Mahindra XUV500 might rival the 7 seater versions of these same SUVs.

Launch

Now if the SUV has been spotted in spy shots in India then we might expect its launch this year. Ford might bring this as the first completely new product of 2020. But the company announcements might clear things more in terms of pricing and variants.
