Tata HBX is spotted on Test during Manali. This car is supposed to be the upcoming SUV from Tata after the Gravitas. Tata has already shown the Gravitas at Auto Expo 2020 and the concept of HBX was shown. Here what we currently know about the HBX and also some of the expectations depending on the segment in which it will arrive.

Spyshots

HBX

The Spy shots of the HBX this time were taken on the Leh Manali Road. This is usually done to check the platform to its limits and also to check the durability of the vehicle. This road is also challenging for the vehicle in a way of combustion efficiency. The density of oxygen is a bit low and it makes for the perfect ground to test the engine performance under unfavourable conditions.

The car was wearing a full-body camouflage and this did not reveal a lot of details. The dimensions of the SUV could be comprehended to be smaller than the Tata Nexon. This car would be a mix between a Cross-over and SUV.

Launch

HBX 2w

Launch of the Tata Altroz EV, Turbo Petrol and HBX is not clear. The Gravitas is expected to launch by year-end but there is no news about that too. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the launch timeline of a lot of manufacturers has been disrupted but now it is coming back on track. During the launch of the Gravitas we might be able to get some news about the other upcoming Cars from Tata.

HBX Expectations

The name HBX might not be retained. It is rumoured that this car might be called hornbill. Tata has recently registered a few names for a trademark but none of them hint towards replacing the HBX name.

Interior

It might have 3 engine options with one which would be turbo petrol. The other 2 would be naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines. This car will compete with the Suzuki Ignis, Upcoming Hyundai AX and Ford Freestyle. Tata will make sure that this product will be hit the market at a right time and will try to make maximum utilization of the competition to make their product stand out.
