Citroen has today announced that they would be launching the upcoming C5 Aircross in the Q1 of 2021. With this said there is also speculation which says that the Citreon C5 Aircross would have a 2.0-litre diesel engine which puts it in competition with the Tata Harrier. Now, what exactly will C5 AirCross Harrier Rival have to take against the competiton

The Tata Harrier gets a 2.0-litre 4 cylinder engine. This makes 167 Bhp of power and is currently the most powerful state of tune on the 2.0-litre engine which is shared on the MG Hector and the Jeep Compass. Now the latest news speculates that the 2.0-litre engine that the C5 would have will make about 180 Bhp of power. Now it is 10 bhp more than the former engine but we have no idea about the weight of the C5 AirCross. Would it have the advantage on weight too?

ESP modes

ESP modes are expected on the Citroen C5 Aircross. These would include basic traction control with varying levels depending upon the surface. ESP modes might also make this car safer in the upcoming GNCAP crash test as it is expected to change and become stricter in upcoming times.

In Citroen terms, it is called Grip Control. If you look at the international market, all the 3 products in the Citroen India lineup have the Grip Control features. Although this is not a 4 wheel drive system it does offer a fair bit of control room for error in the driving of the vehicle.

Safety is enhanced in all circumstances through five driving modes. Drivers can leave the Grip Control system on automatic via Standard mode or select between Sand, All-Road, Snow or ESP OFF modes.

Combined with Grip Control, the Hill Descent Assist function maintains the car at a reduced speed even on steep inclines keeping your vehicle on the right trajectory while limiting the risk of slippage as the car descends a slope.

C5 AirCross Features

To stand out as C5 AirCross Harrier Rival it might get a heads-up display. This could give it an edge as it is quite a cool feature to have on a car and none of them offer in the segment. Also, a handsfree electronic tailgate might make things interesting on the Citroen C5 Aircross. Citroen might introduce 4 trims in their lineup – Sense, C-series, Shine and Shine plus. For now it is expected to have only one Diesel engine with Manual and Automatic transmission.
