The year 2019 is going to have a lot of new cars coming to India soon. Some will be localized products, some will be facelifts and some will be CKDs and CBUs. There will a ton of new SUVs heading our way. So this means that it is our duty to tell you about the Upcoming SUVs coming to India in 2019

Tata Harrier

The car that has been on the lips of everyone since the start of 2018 when the H5X concept was shown at the 2018 Auto Expo. The car was shown/unveiled by Tata this month and tested and reviewed by us too. The car is based on the Land Rover D8 architecture and comes underpinned with the Omega platform by Tata. The car uses a Jeep Compass engine and is going to available with a manual only. The car will come with a Hyundai gearbox when launched with an automatic gearbox. Pricing is expected to be around Rs 16 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs. We will know more when this car will be launched on the 23rd of January, 2019.

Nissan Kicks

The car that Nissan thinks ca topple the Hyundai Creta’s Crown. The Nissan Kicks is going to enter the premium SUV segment. The car is coming with many features that the Creta s not offering now and will have a certain advantage in that aspect. The Kicks will be launched next year in the same price range as the Creta and the Harrier. The car will be launched next month.

Kia SP

The sister company of Hyundai, KIA will begin it’s India journey with the launch of the KIA SP. The car will be a more sporty, aggressive substitute of the Creta. The car will give aspiring Creta owners a more radical and better choice. The KIA SP is going to launch next year and will compete with the upcoming Harrier and Kicks. It is still not clear if the Creta sibling will be more expensive than it;s Hyundai counter part. We expect this car to be launched in the first half of 2019.

Hyundai Styx

The baby Creta is soon going to be unleashed by Hyundai on the sub-four meter market. The car will take on the Vitara Brezza, Honda WRV and Tata Nexon. The car will be made to look like the Creta with interiors and details like headlights will also be inspired by the Creta. The car will be made with a great emphasis on space and comfort. Hyundai would want to capture this segment just like it did with the premium SUV segment. The car is in its final stages of testing and will be mostly launched next year in the first half.

Hyundai Tucson 2019

The Tucson is one of the best looking Hyundai SUVs and the car that competes with the Jeep Compass directly. It’s a versatile car that is available with 4WD and packs many cool features. The 2019  Tuscon has been recently put on sale in the American market and will be soon launched here. This car is a facelift and not a brand new car. We should see the price of this car continue to be the same.

Ford Endeavour 2019

The beast from Ford will continue to keep dominating our roads with a new version in 2019. The Ford Endeavour will receive a facelift. The car will mechanically the same. There was a rumor that Ford might introduce the 2.0-litre engine on the Endeavour as it offers on the international market but this will not happen in India. The company will continue to offer the 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre engines with an AT transmission. Prices are to be expected to increases slightly and otherwise largely remain the same. The car will be refreshed in mid-2019.

Mahindra XUV300

The Mahindra XUV300 is Mahindra’s attempt to take a chunk of the sub-four meter market. The car based on the Ssangyong Tivoli. It will get both petrol and diesel engines on launch. The center console gets a large 8-inch touchscreen. It will get 7 airbags which are a segment first feature. The interiors and upholstery are different from the Ssangyong Tivoli. The car will be a very exciting launch as the pricing will be very competitive. The car will be launched on 15th February in 2019.

Mahindra TUV300

Mahindra has not forgotten about it’s SUV that lured so many buyers from the compact SUV segment. The TUV300 is still a very important car for Mahindra. The car will now be refreshed with the 2019 Mahindra TUV300 Facelift. The car will sit below the recently launched TUV300 Plus. The car is very important for Mahindra and will see a series of new features and updates by the manufacturer. The 2019 Mahindra TUV300 could get new features like Android, Auto Apple CarPlay and some features like Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) from the bigger XUV500. The exterior could see a revised bumper and LED DRLs with projector headlamps too. The car will come in early 2019 with little change in price.

Honda HRV

The 2019 Honda HRV India will be their next SUV. The company has officially confirmed about the development of Honda HRV for India. The HRV will do battle with the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Tata Harrier. The 2018 Honda HRV was unveiled at the 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The HRV is expected to be launched next year in India with mostly the same specifications and features.  The HRV is a premium SUV and will go up against the Hyundai Creta. The upcoming Maruti Vitara, Nissan Kicks and Tata Harrier will be the cars to look out for by Honda when the HRV is launched. This segment is beginning to heat up more, with several new players coming in.

Renault Duster

The Renault Duster 2019 is a highly anticipated car for the Indian market. An India launch of this new SUV is expected next year. A major facelift of the Renault Duster has been pending. Once the best selling SUV, the Duster has lately come under threat from growing competition and lack of features to defend itself. The butchy SUV looks and relatively compact dimensions had customers queuing up to buy this vehicle. The Duster was a favorite for many years. It was very comfortable too. Now, with many new premium SUVs and compact SUVs coming in with new features the Duster has to step it’s game up.

MG India SUV

MG was brought in its time of need by the Chinese company, SAIC. The company is known for making products on the GM and Volkswagen platforms it has got licenses for. We haven’t heard much about MG until last year when the company decided to use the GM Halol plant in Gujarat as its base. There is also a rumor that the car will be called Gloster. The car will also be the first MG India SUV. Rumour has it it will be a Chevrolet Captiva underneath. The car will also get a Tesla-like touchscreen system.

Jeep Compass Trialhawk

This will be the variant hardcore off-roaders will want with the Jeep Compass. The car was capable earlier and now it is more. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk should be launched during the start of the year and will become the top variant of the Compass.

Hyundai Kona Electric

Kona is compact SUV and sidewise it is slightly smaller than the Creta. So, in the Indian scenario, it will compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford Ecosport, mainly. The Hyundai Kona is currently about 4,165mm long but will be about 4 meters in length, in case it comes to India. This will also give it the benefit of excise duty. One of the biggest things will be that the car will be that it will be electric and Hyundai will have a car to go up against the S210 aka XUV300 Electric.

Toyota Brezza

2019 Toyota Vitara Brezza you ask? We know that Suzuki and Toyota have struck a deal to share certain models in India. Suzuki will be giving Toyota the compact SUV, Vitara Brezza and the sub-four-meter hatchback, the Baleno. In return, Toyota will give Suzuki the Corolla sedan. The 2019 Toyota Vitara Brezza will make for filling an important product gap in the Toyota line-up.

Maruti Zen SUV

Now after that Maruti has learned a thing or two about reviving old name with the Vitara Brezza and the Baleno hatchback. And since it has already got a lot of hatchbacks in the market to cover all segments, it is now going to focus on getting the largest piece of the pie in the compact SUV segment. The Y1K concept SUV is going to be brought back as a compact SUV which could be the new Maruti Zen SUV.This car could be seen at the end of the year.

Tata H7X

Now Tata wants to more actively target the seven-seater segment that is being dominated by big SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. To compete in the same class as these cars, the H7X  has to be bigger, powerful, better features and most importantly it should get 4WD. The Hexa has made sure Tata knows how to make a decent, luxurious car with 7 seats. With the Tata H7X, they want to redefine the market once more. The H7X will be the most luxurious car in the segment. With technology from all Tata subsidiaries, the car will have the best of the best. We can expect this car to come by the end of the year.

Renault RBC

Renault RBC is the French automaker’s answer to the Ertiga. RBC is the internal codename. The RBC will be a seven-seater MUV. This will be based on the Kwid platform and it will be coming in next. The car is expected to be a volume churner for Renault and could be a shared product for the Alliance of Nissan and Renault. Nissan had the Evalia and it did not work out in our market. They will want a car like this to get back in the MUV game. The Renault Lodgy is not performing to the levels of which the automaker would like to see it perform. With the RBC Renault will have some ground rules, objectives and goals in mind. We can expect this car by the end of the year.

Datsun Compact SUV

This is based on the Go Cross concept. The production version will be called ‘Cross’. It will be built on the same platform as the Go+. The Datsun Cross is a crossover that will stylish and even feature loaded. It will get many first time features that will enhance its appearance and also offer good utility. Datsun would want to make this crossover a success, knowing that there is currently very little competition to it. There has been a long wait for this vehicle. It was earlier showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be launched in mid-2019.

Nissan Terra

Nissan has a very good history with SUVs and is now going to use that heritage to exploit the Indian customer’s favorite segment. Enter the Nissan Terra. The car that Nissan that will take the fight to the Toyota Fortuner. Everyone is trying it, Mahindra with the Alturas G4 and now Nissan with the Terra. The monopoly of the Fortuner has to be broken somehow by someone.
