These features are going to be very necessary for the brand to incorporate in their first car. The car is coming soon this summer and this will turn this year into another onslaught of SUVs. The Kia SP is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs (Ex-showroom India). This will make the car highly competitive among its rivals. The car will also be feature packed and will be a great car to consider above the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass and the Tata Harrier. There are now some new spy shots that have revealed the car in its production form. We found the car testing around Mumbai. Check them out in the story below.

Kia SP India Price

Internationally Kia has the reputation of being the alternative to Hyundai cars and in some cases, the cheaper alternative. In India, we don’t know how they will handle the market with Hyundai. We do know that they will be competitive. We had predicted that the Kia SP India will not be more expensive than the Hyundai Creta. It should be within the 15 lakh price range. Now we have reports saying that the car will be around Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs. This will make the car a very interesting choice to consider over it’s Hyundai sibling.

Base variant Rs 10 lakhs – Rs 12 lakhs
Mid variant Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 14 lakhs
Top variant Rs 14 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs

Kia SP Rear

Kia SP India Design

The Kia SP Concept has all the hallmarks of the latest Kia design language. Dominating the face is the ‘Tiger Nose’ grille which part of Kia’s design language. There are sleek headlamps and silver colored bash plate element. On to the side, we see the rear sloping roofline, white colored roof and massive wheels with the multi-spoke alloy wheel design. The appearance is enhanced by the grey cladding that runs all around the base of the Kia SP India as well as over the heavily flared wheel arches. At the rear, it is a mix of elements thanks to the chrome exhaust setup as well as chrome line that runs across the top section of the body. The chrome also goes through the tail light assembly.

Kia SP India Interior

There are finally pictures of the interiors of the Kia SP India. Sketches to be more precise. We expect the production guise to get the standard Kia fare that is present on its SUVs, sedans as well as hatchbacks. Given its positioning and detail scrutiny of the sketches, we believe that first of all the D-segment features like a touch screen system, climate control, and faux leather upholstery will be a part of the feature package. Since it will go up against the Hyundai Creta, features like a sunroof, cruise control, automatic headlamps, engine start-stop, automatic climate control and wireless charging for the phone are expected. The infotainment system should get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There should also be a set of fast charging USB ports. But a lot of first-in-segment features will also make their way to the car. Features like – Connected car technology, Off-road mode, Adaptive Cruise Control, Ventilated Seats, Heated Mirrors, Hill descent, Hill hold, Steering modes, Voice Assist, Paddle-shifters, Park Assist and also Ambient Lighting.

The car will also get a lot of storage space, a cooled glovebox and a large center console. The theme of the interior will be black and beige like other KIA cars we have seen in international markets. The 2nd row of this car will also get a lot of utility in the form of rear AC vents, charging sockets, an armrest and cup holders. The boot space will be ample with a low loading lip.

KIA SP India Name

There are many rumors surrounding the name of the car! It will not be called the SP Concept for sure. The name of the car could be Tusker. Many other automotive websites are calling the car this name. We think KIA will have focus groups and research conducted for the most suitable name for this car. It will be a name that is going to attract audiences globally.

Kia SP India Spy Shots

This is a picture we have got recently of the KIA SP Concept in its production version; being tested out on the roads and it does bear resemblance to its concept version. The Tiger grille, the large air vent on the bumper and the tapering off headlights do give it an aggressive look. The KIA SP India in some ways does reflect the design language of the Tata Harrier with it’s high mounted DRLs and raised fog lights.

By the looks of it, the SUV should rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur. The SP Concept features sharp design elements such as LED headlamp eyebrows, LED tail lights and dynamic turn indicators on the ORVMs. Kia’s signature Tiger Nose grille gets a revised look for India as well. Kia says that the concept features a production-ready design and the one coming to Kia showrooms across the country will look a lot like it. Engine options have not been confirmed, though a 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol and a 1.6-litre, turbocharged diesel are expected to find their place under the bonnet. Expect the production version of the SUV to be priced withen Rs 10-15 lakh. We shall update you more on the interior of this car when we know more.

Kia SP India Specifications

Nothing on this is out yet. We can say though that there will be the option of one-litre and the newly developed 1.5-litre engine that will be available on this car. The car could have both petrol and diesel engines on option. Both manual and a CVT automatic transmission could be considered for India. AWD is not expected to be offered on the SP as it is not in high demand in India – the Renault Duster is the only SUV in the segment to offer it and it’s not setting the sales charts on fire. There are many details about this car that are yet to come out. Like the Nexon, we could see different driving modes. We could see the Kia SP also get aids like traction control, ESP and cruise control.

One more interesting detail about this car is that the platform of this car will be also used in the upcoming Hyundai Creta 7 seater. The
