The first half of 2023 has just flown by us in the blink of an eye. Already we have seen so many new car unveils and launches. However, the second half is where all action is, with the upcoming festive season a lot of manufacturers have lined up new car models. In today’s article, let’s talk about upcoming cars in India in 2023. 

Honda Elevate

Honda Elevate

Honda is finally launching its first proper SUV in the country. It has already unveiled the Elevate. The Elevate comes with an upright grille, sharp-looking headlamps, L-shaped tail lamps etc. What about the specifications? The Elevate comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. Overall the Elevate seems like a no-nonsense product and its success will depend upon the pricing Honda gives it.

Toyota Rumion

Maruti recently rebadged the Innova HyCross as Invicto and now Toyota is going to rebadge the Ertiga as Rumion. Like other badge-engineered cars, we see a new grille and some bumper changes. In the interiors, we can get a change in the upholstery colour. What about the specifications? The Rumion will come with the same K15C 1.5-litre petrol engine. In terms of pricing, the Rumion will be a bit expensive, but Toyota could offer a better warranty.

Upcoming cars in 2023 – Citroen C3 Aircross

Citroen C3 Aircross

Another C-SUV coming to India is the C3 Aircross. Citroen has already unveiled the car and is planning to launch it soon. The brand has tried a unique approach by giving it a 7-seater option. What about the specifications? The C3 Aircross comes with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine capable of producing 108bhp and 190Nm of torque. Automatic buyers stay away, as the C3 Aircross only comes with a manual gearbox option. Feature-wise, it comes with 10.2-inch infotainment, electric ORVMs, TPMS and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Mahindra is also working on a bigger version of Bolero Neo. The Bolero Neo Plus will come with a 7-seater and 9-seater layout. The 9-seater version will come with side folding jumper seats. Mahindra could give it some design changes over the Bolero Neo. It will also come with a bigger 2.2-litre diesel engine capable of producing 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Mahindra is expected to launch the Bolero Neo Plus by September this year.

Toyota Fronx

Upcoming cars in 2023

Another rebadged Maruti product from Toyota is the Fronx. Like other rebadged products, we could see a new grille and some minor tweaks to the bumpers. Other things like the specifications should remain the same. So we can expect the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0-litre turbo petrol. Feature-wise, also we can expect the same features on Toyota’s version. Toyota is expected to launch its rebadged Fronx by November this year. 

Upcoming cars in 2023 – Tata Nexon facelift

Tata’s best seller is also going to get a much-needed update. From the leaks, it seems like Tata wants to keep stone unturned with a plethora of new things coming on the Nexon facelift. It is going to get a sharper design and new interiors. Feature-wise, we can see a 10-inch infotainment, 360-degree camera, LED headlamps etc. Tata is expected to launch the Nexon facelift by September this year.

Tata Harrier/Safari facelift

The Harrier and Safari duo are also expected to get a major update. We can expect a newer front design with sharp edges similar to the Curvv concept. To check out the spy shots click here. Other changes could include newer tail lamps, alloy wheels, LED headlamps etc. Feature-wise, we could see a new 12-inch infotainment system, touch-sensitive HVAC controls and a new two-spoke steering wheel. Tata could also introduce the 1.5-litre petrol on facelift. Tata is expected to launch the Harrier/Safari facelift by October this year.

Hyundai i20 facelift

2023 Upcoming cars

Hyundai’s next product in the country will be the facelifted version of the i20. Hyundai has already launched the facelift in Europe and so we can expect similar changes. In the facelift, we can expect an updated front design and a new tail lamp design. The side profile is more or less similar. Feature-wise, we could see a new digital instrument cluster and some minor tweaks. Hyundai could launch the i20 facelift by October or November this year. 

Nissan X-Trail

Last year, Nissan showcased the X-Trail in India and stated that it plans to launch it by the end of 2023. Coming to the X-Trail, it is a full-size SUV that will rival the Toyota Fortuner. It comes with a stylish design blended with Nissan’s V-Motion grille. The model showcased in India was the 5-seater one, but the brand will bring the 7-seater to India. Upcoming cars in 2023

Force Motors is working on the 5-door model of the Gurkha. Once launched it will be the perfect rival to the upcoming Thar 5-door and to some extent the Jimny 5-door. The Gurkha 5-door has been spotted testing and it looks massive. We have even compared it to the G-Wagon you can check it out here. Engine-wise, it is expected to come with a 2.6-litre diesel engine. Force is expected to launch the Gurkha 5-door by the end of this year.
