Hyundai’s new hatchback unveiled! launch soon?
Hyundai has found success in the SUV segment. Its SUVs like the Creta and Venue are bringing in the sales number. However, Hyundai knows hatchbacks are still quite popular in the country. Earlier this year it updated its entry-level hatchback, the Grand i10 Nios. Now Hyundai has launched the updated i20 in Europe. It gets some minor refinements and changes. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 2024 Hyundai i20.
Design changes
The i20 facelift gets several cosmetic changes. At the front, we get a redesigned front grille with LED headlamps sleekly integrated into them. Hyundai has reworked the bumper, and now the triangular vents have grown in size. While the logo has been moved from the grille to just above it. Side-profile remains more or less similar to the current model. Alloy wheels also get a major upgrade with a star-like design.
2024 Hyundai i20 – New features
The i20 already comes loaded with all kinds of features and so the facelifted doesn’t get any major add-ons. Hyundai has revised the digital instrument cluster and some minor tweaks to the infotainment system. The European model also comes with ADAS. But some ADAS features like blind spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance and smart cruise control are add-ons available in an optional pack.
Expected specifications
Being a facelift, we expect Hyundai to continue with the same specifications. So we will have the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and 1.0-litre turbo petrol. Hyundai has discontinued the diesel engine from the i20 lineup, and we don’t expect it to make a comeback on the facelifted model. Transmission options on the petrol engine include manual, iMT and DCT.
2024 Hyundai i20 – India launch
For now, Hyundai has unveiled the i20 facelift for its European markets. The launch could happen in the next few months. What about the India launch? Hyundai hasn’t stated anything about the i20 facelift. However, we expect the brand to launch the i20 facelift in 2024 in India.
