Ford – Upcoming cars in India
Ford hasn’t been quite active in the Indian car market for a while now. The last vehicle that they updated was the Ford EcoSport where they give a new variant called SE. We are expecting eight new Ford cars in the Indian market. This article is going to give you a brief idea about each of these cars. Do let us know which car are you excited about.
Ford EcoSport facelift
The Ford EcoSport is the key product that Ford will update soon. The current generation EcoSport has not changed for a while now. The facelifted Ecosport is expected to get more features and a change in design. It is expected to get the same engine as the current EcoSport. In terms of features, it will get the latest generation of SYNC entertainment system. There is no official confirmation from the brand about this subcompact SUV. Pictures of it being being tested are spotted online.
New-gen Endeavour
The new generation Endeavor will be the most powerful SUV in its segment. As of now, Ford has lost this crown to the Toyota Fortuner which makes the most power in its segment. The test mule of the Ford Endeavour has been spotted while being tested in Melbourne. As the new generation Endeavour might come with a 3.0-litre V6 engine on the top end model and we think that India should get it too. Also. to make this engine efficient it could come with hybrid technology. The design of the new generation Endeavour will be borrowed from the F-150 pickup truck. In terms of features, it will get Ford’s SYNC4 entertainment system. This entertainment system will support wireless android auto and Apple CarPlay. We are also expecting a 10.25-inch touchscreen display on this full-size SUV.
Upcoming mid-size SUV Territory
The Territory is already in the Chinese market. This is based on the JMC Yusheng S330. There isn’t much information on what we can expect from this mid-size SUV in India. In China, this gets a 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine that makes 138 bhp of power. In terms of features this vehicle is completely packed with a touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, connected ca technology, wireless charging, 360° camera, Hill-start assist, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision assist, park assist and other features.
Ford Ranger Raptor
The Ranger Raptor is a premium off-roading pickup truck. We are expecting a CBU unit to be sold in India soon. It comes with a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that makes 210 bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque. This pick-up truck gets FOX racing suspension along with a terrain management system which also has Baja mode. The design and the off-road features are something that the Ranger Raptor will attract customers with.
New Ford Mustang
The launch of the new Mustang has been quite delayed in India. It’s been almost a year since the BS4 version of the Mustang has been discontinued. The new Mustang gets all-LED front headlamps a new design for the tail lamps and revised bumpers. The engine now produces 460 bhp of power and 570 Nm of torque. This supercar now gets connected car technology in a complete 12-inch digital instrument cluster. Also, there is a new 10-speed automatic transmission which puts all the 460 horses on the wheels. The new Mustang comes with pre-collision assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist and other safety features. The previous model of the Mustang was available at about Rs 70 lakhs. This new Mustang is expected to be a bit more expensive.
Mustang Mach-E
The Mustang, a classic muscle car shares its name with the Mach E, a vehicle that is quite interesting in the brands lineup. This has proved that Ford can make EVs that are quite strong contenders in the market. If this EV comes to India before Tesla does it could attract a lot of customers who want an upmarket electric SUV.
Ford C-segment SUV
Plans for a C-segment SUV were on the table when Mahindra was part of the joint venture. As of now, there isn’t much information out there on this SUV. We think that a SUV like that could bridge the gap between the EcoSport and Endeavour. Ford needs to have a rival to the Hyundai Creta in India.
Figo/Aspire facelift
It has been quite a long since the company has updated the Figo/Aspire. Now a facelift would have freshen up the cars look . The infotainment system would be upgraded to the latest Ford infotainment system. We could see wireless charging be introduced. The infotainment system could support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is much that can’t speculate about this facelift.
