Ford’s B2E platform is the one that currently underpins the EcoSport. The new-gen car is expected to be based on the C2 platform. It is expected to get the same powertrain that the current one gets. The petrol unit is expected to be a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that is capable of producing 121bhp and 150Nm of torque. The diesel unit is expected to be a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder unit that produces 99bhp and 215Nm of torque. We expect Ford to re-tune these engines in order to make more power and torque. Also, a diesel automatic option is expected, something that the current car misses.
