Ford is preparing its future strategy for India and its customers. With the strategy implementation, we might get to see some new updates for existing products & also some completely fresh products that are expected to scatter in different segments. One of those products might be a C-segment SUV that could come to take on the Hyundai Creta. In this article, we will discuss Ford Rs 12 Lakh Creta competition. Let’ go.

Cars with a DCT gearbox in India

Dimensions

Ford TerritoryThe car in the discussion today is the Ford Territory. It is a C-segment SUV available in countries like China, Brazil, the Philippines and many others. It is 4580mm long, 1936mm wide & 1674mm tall. The car sits on a wheelbase of 2716mm. The car gets a boot space of 420-litres. It gets a ground clearance of 180mm.

The car in foreign markets like China comes powered by a 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine that makes 138bhp and 225Nm of torque. However, the same engine makes up to 148bhp and 225Nm when it is sold with the Ford Territory in Brazil. Ford could use this to its advantage to distribute variants when bringing it to India. The engine comes mated to manual as well as CVT gearboxes. In India, we expect Ford to offer the Territory with a diesel engine as well. The car sits on 16-inch as well as 18-inch wheels.

Features

Ford Territory rear

Ford will surely try to give a tough fight to the segment-king, Hyundai Creta, on the features front as well. The car is expected to come loaded with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, an electric sunroof (although Ford offers a panoramic sunroof with the Territory in the foreign markets), Ford’s connected car tech, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, hill start assist, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold and other such features. With these features on board, the competition is bound to feel threatened.

Pricing & Launch

As mentioned above, the car is expected to start somewhere around Rs 12 Lakhs in order to position itself as a competitive rival. As far as the launch is confirmed, there has been no confirmation from the brand, if the Territory would make it to India. However, we believe Ford should bring it here since the product has the real capability to take on the Creta. Also, with the introduction of a new rival, brands would have to take note of it, which will ultimately fire up the competition for the good.
