The company is looking at adding new products to its line-up and it is also reviving its existing car portfolio. The City is its best selling sedan and the company is looking at adding more more zing to it. The facelift version of the sedan will look stylish and a lot more sporty. Honda Civic 2017:

This is the new-generation premium sedan that will be competing with the Hyundai Elantra, Volkswagen Jetta and the Skoda Octavia. Honda is looking at adding new engines to its line-up and this will be the first time that Civic for India will be getting a diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki Ignis:

Launch Date: September 2016

This SUV will be competing with the Mahindra KUV100 and it will be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. Maruti Suzuki will be selling the Ignis through its Nexa range of dealerships. Tata Nexon:

Launch Date: Early 2017

Tata Nexon frontTata Motors will be launching its new Nexon compact SUV for the Indian car market. This will be the company’s first compact SUV that will be priced at INR 7 lakhs to INR 11 lakhs. Tata Motors will be launching this against the Ford Ecosport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra Nuvosport. What is so special about this SUV? Tata Kite 5 sedan:

Launch Date: Late  2016

Tata Kite 5 frontTata will be launching the new Kite 5 sedan this year. This will be the company’s latest offering in the compact sedan range. Based on the Tata Tiago, the Kite 5 is a compact sedan that will be placed below the Tata Zest. This will come with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel engine. Tata Hexa:

Launch Date: Mid 2016

Tata Hexa frontThe Hexa is the new flagship UV for Tata Motors. This is based on the Aria platform and it is a completely revived new model. The design, features, interiors and even the engine has been changed/modified. The Tata Hexa fulfills the needs of a new car buyer who is willing to spend about INR 11 lakhs to INR 16 lakhs (on-road price). Skoda Rapid facelift:

Launch Date: Mid-2016

The Skoda Rapid facelift will be another refresh to the Rapid. This new sedan will be launched only in the Indian car market. This has been designed by Skoda’s Indian design team and this is their first design project. Now it seems Skoda will be giving more designing assignments to the Indian team. Renault RBC:

Launch Date: Mid 2017

The Renault RBC is a MUV that will be competing with the Maruti Ertiga. This will be launched in 2017. Renault is working on a CMF-A+ platform, which is an extended version of the CMF-A to hold bigger engines and build larger vehicles. Renault Kwid 1.0 AMT:

Launch Date: September 2016

Renualt KwidThe Renault Kwid 1.0-litre along with the AMT will be launched this year. This is the new 1.0-litre engine that will be powering this compact hatchback. Hyundai Elantra:

Launch Date: September 2016

The new-generation Elantra, which has been codenamed as AD will be making its way into India this year with a 2.0-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engines. The Elantra will follow the new-gen Fluidic design language and it will have similar dimensions as its outgoing version. Hyundai Tucson:

Launch Date: June 2016

The Tucson will come with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that will come with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission options. Volkswagen Tiguan:

Launch Date: Early 2017

Volkswagen is looking at reviving its Indian product portfolio and increasing its reach with the new generation products from the company. Hyundai Verna 2017:

Launch Date: Mid 2017

Hyundai Verna 4S 025Hyundai is working on a new-generation Verna, which is due to be launched in 2017. This will be an all new vehicle based on a new chassis. The new Verna will be sporty and it will have good driving dynamics too. Launch Date: Late 2016/ Early 2017

Jeep will be launching the new compact SUV that will be Made-In-India. This will be the company’s first product that will be manufactured in India’s Ranjangaon plant. The new Jeep will come with a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a six-speed manual transmission. The company will even use a nine-speed ZF transmission as well. Nissan X-Trail:

The luxurious SUV will be the first hybrid SUV for India, and it will be launched sometime towards the second half of 2016. The Nissan X-Trail will be the company’s new-generation SUV and one of Nissan’s best sellers in Europe. The upcoming SUV for India will have seven seats, unlike the previous one that had five only. The Nissan X-Trail will be making its debut in India by mid-2016 and it will come with a 2.0-litre diesel engine and an electric motor too.

 

Volkswagen Passat GTE:

The Volkswagen Passat GTE will be launched in India in 2017. Volkswagen Passat’s new-generation is making its way into India, however this time it will be green (plug-in hybrid). With this new sedan, Volkswagen will not just attract its existing loyalists, which are niche but at the same time it will even offer a lot better fuel-efficiency too. The Passat GTE will be coming with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, however with the plug-in hybrid, it shall be a lot more fuel-efficient too.

Mahindra XUV500 hybrid:

Launch Date: Late 2016

Mahindra XUV500 2015 000Mahindra is looking at getting the hybrid version of the XUV500. This is one of the most anticipated upcoming car for India. This will be the first hybrid vehicle made by an Indian auto maker. Mahindra has already become the only Indian automotive manufacturer to get a fully electric vehicle, and next shall be the hybrid one. Mahindra’s XUV500 will sport a smaller diesel engine and an electric motor. The Indian UV maker will be introducing the XUV500 hybrid with an automatic transmission. Where Mahindra will exceed is getting excise duty benefit with a smaller diesel engine and even more subsidy for the hybrid technology.

Toyota Innova Cross:

Toyota has discontinued the Innova, however this will be getting a major upgrade in cosmetics and it will be coming with a body kit. Yes, Toyota won’t leave out on the old Innova and convert it into the Innova Cross. This will help the company not to miss out on this price point. The Innova Crysta will be a lot more expensive than the Innova and hence the Japanese automaker will add this new product to its portfolio kitty and continue selling in this segment. This will be a good option to pick, especially for those who can’t afford the Innova Crysta.
