Volkswagen Tiguan India Design

The all new Tiguan looks stylish and has presence. The large chunky front grille with three chrome horizontal slats seem to be a part of the headlamps. The headlamps have projector lights with daytime running LEDs. This forms the same design and it even gets large fog lamps.

There are air vents on the Tiguan on the bumper, while the lower end is blacked out. The side profile looks more like a crossover than an SUV.

The wing mirrors are mounted on the door than the window and sleek roof rails look trendy. There aren’t too many lines running across the SUV. The side profile will remind you of the old BMW X3.

From the rear, it does look a tad different. The styling is somewhat similar to other VW SUVs. The tail lamps look unique in design. There is even a rear integrated spoiler as well.

Volkswagen Tiguan India Interior

Just like any other VW, the interiors of the Volkswagen Tiguan India are simple and of good quality. The interiors are all-black. There is the new-generation Volkswagen steering wheel. This come with a flat bottom and there are multiple controls for audio, cruise and even telephone. The instrument cluster is made up of twin dials with chrome surrounds. There is a coloured driver information system in between. This even shows navigation when needed. One of the best aspects of the Tiguan shall be its build quality, which will help to differentiate its quality from the rest.

The centre console consists of a large touchscreen system and this has navigation, reverse camera, bluetooth , SD card input, aux and even USB input. Beneath that is climate control. The Tiguan will be a five-seater. We aren’t certain of the space that it will offer in both the rows as we haven’t seen the vehicle. The front row seats are likely to be supportive and have good space too. The boot should be large enough for a weekend travel luggage for five people.

Volkswagen Tiguan India Engine and Transmission

The Volkswagen Tiguan will be made available with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. This mill should churn about 170bhp of power and close to 400Nm of maximum torque. This mill shall be offered with a six-speed manual and six-speed DSG option. This is the same engine that will be coming on the Passat and even Jetta had it. This engine has good drivability and there is no doubt about the power it will produce. This engine is a tad noisy but on the inside, there won’t be much noise. This is majorly due to better insulation.

Volkswagen Tiguan India Mileage

In terms of mileage, the Volkswagen Tiguan should return about 11km/l in the city and about 15km/l on the highway. There won’t be a petrol engine on offer. The diesel automatic should be about 5% lesser than the current one.
