4 Upcoming 7-seaters to wait for in 2023
7-seater cars have always been popular in the Indian market. However, in the last few years, their popularity has soared through the roof. This has happened due to the introduction of 7-seater SUVs like the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, etc. Now some more 7-seaters are expected to be launched by the end of 2023. In today’s article, let’s talk about upcoming 7-seater cars.
Tata Safari facelift
Tata is readying a major upgrade for the Safari. Earlier this year, it gave the Safari all the necessary features like ADAS, 360-degree camera, digital instrument cluster, etc. Now it will be given a facelift to update its design. The new Safari is expected to get a sharper design similar to the Harrier EV. Feature-wise, we could see a new 12-inch infotainment system, touch-sensitive HVAC controls and a new four-spoke steering wheel. Tata is expected to launch the Safari facelift by October this year.
Upcoming 7-seater cars – Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
Mahindra is working on the bigger version of the Bolero Neo called the Bolero Neo Plus. The Neo is already a 7-seater but with jumper seats. In the Bolero Neo Plus, we could see a 7-seater in a bench layout and even a 9-seater variant with side folding jump seats. In terms of design, we could see some subtle design changes. Specifications-wise, it is expected to come with a 2.2-litre diesel engine capable of producing 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Mahindra is expected to launch the Bolero Neo Plus by September or October this year.
Mahindra XUV700 update
The Mahindra XUV700 disrupted the market with its launch in 2021. It is still dominating the market in terms of features and also in the sales chart. But Mahindra is keeping a close eye on what Tata is doing with the Safari. According to reports, Mahindra plans to update the XUV700 in the coming days. It could give the XUV700 new features like front & rear ventilated seats, sliding 2nd row, powered tailgate and auto-dimming IRVM. The updated XUV700 is expected by the end of this year.
Upcoming 7-seater cars – Nissan X-Trail
Last year, Nissan showcased the X-Trail in India. At that time, it had stated that it plans to launch the SUV in India sometime in 2023. Since then, it hasn’t stated much, but we think the X-Trail could come by the end of this year. The model showcased in India was the 5-seater version, but Nissan will bring the 7-seater version to India. It comes with a modern design language and plush interiors. Feature-wise, it comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, driving modes, ADAS, panoramic sunroof etc. Spec-wise, it is expected to come with a plethora of options, including a strong hybrid setup.
