Tata Safari is the brand’s flagship SUV in the country and is also the longest-running nameplate for the brand. Its earlier generations have formed a cult following in the market. Though the new model doesn’t get the same command, but it does bring in decent sales. Recently Tata gave all the necessary features to the Safari, but a design overhaul is most awaited. Tata is regularly testing the Safari facelift, and now we have new spy shots of the interior. In today’s article, let’s talk about the New Safari interior.

New Safari interior – spy shots

Coming straight to the spy shot, we can get a clear sneak peek into the interiors. Most of the dashboard is covered in camouflage, but we can still see the new two-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters. It is similar to one spotted on the Nexon facelift with a black element in the middle. This could be a screen, but we will have to wait for that. The infotainment system looks similar to the current model, but could it be the 12-inch system? Only time will tell. Below that, AC controls are hidden meaning we could see a major change here, probably a touch senstive unit. The drive mode selector also gets a new look similar to the Nexon EV Max gear knob.

What else do we know?

The Safari facelift is going to get major changes in the exterior design. At the front, we could see a new grille design and finally LED headlamps. The side profile could be more or less similar, barring the new alloy wheel design. What about the rear? The rear comes with new tail lamps with sequential LED indicators. Though the chances are slim, Tata could introduce its new 1.5-litre petrol engine on the Safari facelift. Transmission options could include a manual and a DCA gearbox on this petrol engine.

Launch timeline

Earlier this year, Tata launched the Harrier and Safari Red Dark editions in the country. So there was a common understanding that Tata would launch the facelifted models a bit later, probably in 2024. But according to media reports, Tata plans to launch the Safari and Harrier facelift by September this year. Pricing-wise, it could be Rs 60k to 80k more expensive than the current top model pricing.
