New Tata Safari with connected tail lamps spotted

The spy shots of Tata cars have kept us quite busy in the last few days. Not that we are complaining as it is surely an exciting time. The Nexon hype mill is in full force with interior and exterior leaks happening every day. After Nexon, Tata is going to update the Harrier and Safari. The Safari is going to get a new exterior design. In line with that new spy shots have revealed the connected tai lamp design. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Tata Safari update.

New spy shots

The spy shots were sent to us by one of our readers, Nikhil. In this, we can spot the rear design of an SUV. It is easy to guess it’s the Safari from the C-pillar and spoiler design. We can see the new tail lamp design that extends quite a bit into the side profile. The new Tata Safari also gets connected tail lamps like the new Nexon. It seems that Tata will give connected tail lamps on all its upcoming cars. 

Specifications

The Safari facelift will continue with the 2.0-litre Fiat-sourced diesel engine. Its specs will remain the same at 167bhp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options will also continue to be manual and automatic gearboxes. There are some rumours that the facelifted model could come with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. However, the chances of this happening are slim right now.

Tata Safari update – Launch timeline

Currently, Tata is occupied with the launch of the Nexon. The launch of Nexon is slated to happen in mid-September. Quickly after that, we can expect Tata to get busy with the Harrier/Safari facelift. According to reports, Tata could launch the Harrier/Safari facelift by the end of October. Pricing-wise, we can expect it to be Rs 60k to 80k more expensive than the current model.
