New Tata Safari spotted testing! New infotainment & more spotted
Tata is going to have a mega second half of the year. In the next few months, it is going to completely change the look of its entire lineup. The new Nexon is almost just around the corner and then we will have updates for the Harrier/Safari. Now we have new spy shots of Safari revealing new information. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Tata Safari.
New details
The spy shots were sent to us by one of our readers, Siddarth K. In this, we can see the new Tata Safari in testing. At the front, we can see the new grille and headlamp design. For the testing model, Tata is using temporary headlamps. Overall the design seems an extension of the Curvv concept similar to what we saw on the new Nexon. The side profile is more or less similar. At the rear, we could maybe see a connected tail lamp design.
There were a lot of things that couldn’t be captured by Siddarth K. However, he stated that he saw a new curved infotainment system. Other things he spotted include new alloy wheels and ADAS. He also stated that the engine was very silent. Could this be the petrol variant?
Specifications
As mentioned above, this spied model could be the petrol variant. However, Tata has stated plans to debut the 1.5-litre engine on the Curvv. So we will have to wait to see if it is offered on the Safari facelift at the launch. The diesel 2.0-litre unit will continue on the facelift. It will also continue with manual and automatic gearbox options.
Tata Safari new – Launch timeline
Currently, Tata is focusing on launching the new Tata Nexon. Tata is expected to launch the new Nexon in mid-September. After that, Tata could launch the Safari facelift and also the Harrier facelift. We think Tata could launch the Safari/Harrier facelift by the end of October. Pricing-wise, the Safari facelift could be Rs 60k to 80k, more expensive than the current top model pricing.
