Tata is having a jam-packed launch session in the next few months. By the end of this year, it could update most of the products in its lineup. This includes the Nexon facelift, Harrier/Safari facelift and Punch EV. So what’s after that? Next year Tata will be launching its most important product, the Curvv. Why is it most important? It will sit in the lucrative C-SUV segment taking on the Hyundai Creta. Tata will be hoping that it can grab sales from Creta and showcase its dominance. In today’s article, let’s talk about this all-new Tata Curvv SUV.

Design

Design-wise, the Curvv comes with a coupe-SUV design language. In July, the first test mule of the Curvv was spotted testing. It carried forward the sharp front design similar to the concept model. In the side profile, Tata had tried hiding the sloping C-pillar. Still, it was quite prominent and visible. Overall the car looked quite proportionate. The rear was not spotted, but we can expect connecting tail lamps like the concept.

All-new Tata Curvv – Specifications

Tata Curvv EV front

Tata hasn’t revealed much on the specification side of things. The EV version should come with class-leading power and range figures. We can expect at least 500km of claimed range on the Curvv EV.

Guessing the ICE specifications is easier. We could see the new 1.2-litre turbo (123bhp/225Nm) and 1.5-litre turbo petrol (165bhp/280Nm). Both these engines were showcased by Tata at the Auto Expo of 2023.

Diesel duties could be handled by the 1.5-litre that powers the Nexon, but that engine could also get discontinued in the next round of emission norms. So it remains to be seen what Tata does with the diesel engine option on the Curvv.

Interior

The interior of the Curvv comes with a simple, but practical approach. We have a clean dashboard with a floating infotainment system in the middle. The concept also had the two-spoke steering wheel that has been spotted on several upcoming Tata cars. We also have touch-sensitive HVAC controls that could debut on the Harrier/Safari facelifts. Other standout features include a big panoramic sunroof and an electric tailgate.

The ICE version could be launched a few months after the EV. What about the pricing? The Curvv ICE could be priced around its other C-SUV rival, starting from Rs 13 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While the EV could get a starting price around the Rs 18 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai).
