Tata has taken massive strides into the EV segment in the country. As of Q2 2023, Tata Motors holds 71% of the market share in the EV space. It has kind off become the Maruti of the EV segment. However, Tata knows how quickly things can change in India. It doesn’t want to take the pedal of the accelerator by bringing more EVs. Its next EV is going to be the electrified version of the Punch. But how is Tata going to price the Punch EV? In today’s article, let’s talk about the Tata Punch EV price.

Price expectations

Tata Punch EV price

Tata could position the Punch EV between the Tigor EV and Nexon EV Prime in its EV lineup. So currently, the Tigor EV starts from Rs 13.34 and goes to Rs 14.55 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While the Nexon EV Prime starts from Rs 15.48 lakh. So Tata has breathing space of around 1.5 lakhs to place the Punch EV. We think the Punch EV could start from Rs 14 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Now predicting the higher variants is hard. However, we think the Punch EV range could max out at the Rs 17 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai). This is keeping in mind the top-end price of the Nexon EV Prime.

Tata Punch EV price – Changes

In terms of the design, we don’t expect any radical changes on the Punch EV. At max, we could see some blue highlights on the exterior and the EV badging. In the interior, the overall dashboard layout should remain the same. The test mule of the Punch EV was spotted with an electric parking brake. Other expected features include wireless charging and an air purifier.

Specifications

Naturally, the Punch EV should come with the brand’s Ziptron technology. The Punch EV could share its specifications with the Tigor EV. So we can expect a 26kWh battery pack paired with a 73bhp motor. What about the range? This setup gives a claimed range of 315km on the Tigor EV. In the Punch EV, we can expect a similar range, but the real-world range could drop a bit due to the boxy design of the Punch EV.

Tata Punch EV price & launch

Tata is currently working on bringing the Punch i-CNG version. After that, it has a sleeve of products, including the Nexon facelift & Harrier/Safari facelift. After that, we can expect Tata to launch the Punch EV. Tentatively, we can expect Punch EV to be launched by the end of this year or early next year.
