Design
Ignis looks sporty when it comes to the design factor. The car gets LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, roof rails, alloy wheels and a sporty spoiler. Tata HBX will also be a good looking car, given the fact that it is based on Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language. With the HBX, we would get to see eyebrow LED DRLs. Also, from the spy shots that we have received till now, the overall car will carry modern touches like diamond-cut alloy wheels and roof rails.
Tata HBX vs Maruti Ignis Features
Maruti Ignis gets features like SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, tilt-adjustable steering, reverse parking camera and keyless entry. The Tata HBX will come with features like a semi-digital instrument cluster, a D-cut multifunction steering wheel, automatic AC, connected car technology, cruise control, auto headlamps, a premium sound system, a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and a push start/stop button. This shows that the HBX will get more features than the Maruti Ignis.
Engine
Maruti Ignis gets a 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a manual as well as an AMT gearbox. Tata HBX on the other hand is expected to come powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine which we get to see on the Tata Altroz. This engine is expected to come paired with a manual and an AMT gearbox.
Should Ignis buyers wait for HBX?
Definitely YES! If you are looking for a car that has more features to offer and comes with a newer design, will get Tata’s proven ALFA platform which is known for it’s safety, you should hold your money for the Tata HBX. However, if you are in a hurry, you can go for the Maruti Ignis as well. But in that case will also tell you to wait and see cars like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios too.
