Maruti has again topped the sales for the month. Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 1,35,879 passenger vehicles domestically in April. Although, these numbers have helped Maruti retain the top spot however the brand has seen a dip of 7% in one month. The brand had sold a total of 1,46,203 passenger vehicles domestically in March this year.

Hyundai

Hyundai Motors is the second top-selling car manufacturer in the country. The brand sold a total of 49,002 units domestically in April. With figures at 52,600 for March 2021, the company also saw a dip of close to 6.8%.

Tata Motors sold a total of 25,095 units of passenger vehicles in April, making it the 3rd top-selling brand in the country for the month of April. Tata, similar to Maruti and Hyundai, also saw a dip of 15% in terms of passenger vehicle sales compared to March this year. The figure for March stood at 29,654 units.

Mahindra

Mahindra is one of the only two companies to see positive sales growth compared to March 2021. The brand sold 18,186 units in April. The brand had sold 16,643 units in March. This sums up to a 9.3% growth rate which is remarkable considering the times we are in. Due to this, the brand stood at the 4th spot.

Kia slipped to the 5th position from the 4th position in a single month. The brand sold 19,100 units in March this year. Come April, the brand sold 16,111 units. This is a decline of 15.6% which clearly reflects the impact of the situation in the country.

Toyota

Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold a total of 9621 units in domestic sales for the month of April putting it at the 6th spot in terms of sales figures for April. The brand sold a healthy 14,997 units domestically in March this year. The company has thus seen a massive decline of close to 36% in a single month.

Honda is the only other OEM to have seen positive growth in sales compared to the previous month. Honda sold 9072 units in April compared to 7103 units in March. This comes out to be a 27.7% positive jump.

Renault managed to score the 8th-spot in the country, thanks to its strong products like Kwid, Triber and Kiger. The brand sold a total of 8642 cars in April, however, the brand also had to see a negative chart dip. Comparing these figures to March 2021, when the brand sold 12,356 units, the brand’s sales have come down by 30.1%.

Ford

Ford has managed to be at the 8th spot, however, this brand has also seen a negative growth of 29.4%. The brand sold 7746 units in March 2021 which have come down to 5469 units in April 2021.

Nissan

Nissan

Nissan came out to be the 10th top-selling brand in the country for the month of April even after seeing a 16% dip in sales. Nissan managed to sell 3369 units in April compared to 4012 units in March this year.
