Will it come to India?

Mahindra-logo

Mahindra acquired Ssyangyong Motors 10 years ago. After this acquisition, Rexton became the first product to be launched. The Rexton launched in 2012 for the Indian markets. Although the Rexton was a great product, the lack of knowledge of the new brand drained the sale numbers of the car.

The SsangYong Rexton was later rebadged as Mahindra Alturas G4. However, the Alturas although being a great car was suppressed by the Mahindra badge. Prospective buyers could not relate to a premium SUV from the brand. With sales figures dwindling, Mahindra has been trying to let-go of the Korean brand. With the substantially low sales, it is highly unlikely that the updated Alturas would come to the country. However, the end result would be clear only after Mahindra takes the final call.
