Hyundai Rs 5 lakh SUV in Development
Hyundai has been spotted testing an SUV which might be smaller than the Venue. We are expecting this SUV to be unveiled late by this year or in 2022. Here are some of our expectation from the Hyundai Rs 5 lakhs SUV.
Price
Calling it a Rs 5 lakh SUV because we are expecting its pricing to start from Rs 5 lakh and end near the mid variant of the Hyundai Venue. The Venue pricing starts at approximately at Rs 7 lakhs and this is where this car will have its sweet spot. It will not only offer features from the Venue at a lower price but also act as a connecting product of the people upgrading from an old car.
The buying behaviour in India is such that when a person enters the showroom to buy a vehicle they will check out other products that the brand offers and then pick their value for money product. Having an SUV right now which bridges the gap between a hatchback and compact SUV is necessary for Hyundai. This will make it easy for people looking for a Hatchback or a sub-4 metre sedan to a micro SUV like the Rs 5 lakh SUV.
Expected Features
Hyundai with their last few products has shaken the market and retained their sales numbers even after launching products during the lockdown. The Venue and Creta are promising products whereas the Aura and Nios have introduced a lot of new features to the segment.
Taking a guess from this we could see the BlueLink connected cars on this Hyundai micro SUV. Along with that a premium sound system is expected on the interior. The design language of this car will also be like the Creta and Venue with the headlights integrated into the bumper.
As seen in the spy shots the grille design is not seen on any other Hyundai vehicle. Also, the turn indicators have been placed above the headlights. The alloy wheels seem to be big but they have a smaller wall. This might result in a bumpier ride.
Engine Expectation
Hyundai has the most variety of engine with them. This Hyundai Rs 5 lakh SUV will at least have 2 petrol engine. Giving a diesel engine at this price might just change things in the segment.
Giving it the 1.5-litre diesel engine might be an overkill for this size of the vehicle.
