MG Ertiga Competition – India Expectations
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is a family-car (as promoted by Maruti Suzuki itself) and it truly is one. Ertiga finds no competition in the country other than the Mahindra Marazzo and the Maruti Suzuki XL6 which are going strong. Other competitions like the Renault Lodgy and the Honda BR-V have been discontinued either due to strict BS-6 norms or low safety standards. But, another brand – MG Motors has one product in its bag which could easily compete with the Ertiga. MG calls it 360M. Let’s find out more about it.
Engine
The MG 360M is powered by a 1.5-litre Petrol engine which produces 103bhp and 135Nm of torque. This setup is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox.
Exterior
360M is a car with similar designs of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, but the main difference is the platform. The MG 360M is 4615mm long, 1735mm wide and 1660mm tall. Due to this, the MG is bigger from the outside as well as from the inside.
MG Ertiga Competition Interiors
On the interior front, the MG 360M comes as a proper 6-seater with captain seats on offer. Moreover, the 360M stands on a longer wheelbase than the Ertiga, hence more spacious from the inside. With 2nd-row and 3-row seats folded, the MG 360M boasts of 1350-litre of boot space, which is way bigger than what we get with Ertiga.
Safety
Dual airbags for the driver as well as the co-passenger, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) by Bosch are some of the key safety features which come with the MPV.
Features
The 360M is loaded with features to impress the customers. Features like electric sunroof, 8-inch infotainment system multifunction steering wheel are offered to the customers.
The MG 360M will be a serious threat to the Ertiga if MG decides to launch the vehicle in the country. We await MG’s further notification regarding the 360M which was showcased in the Auto Expo 2020.
