Honda has been a company that is not getting a lot of success in recent times. Some of the products of the company have not gotten the numbers that the company would want it to. It has only four products in the market as of now. The launch of the all-new City would change this as it is the companies flagship product. But it lacks a high selling SUV as well. This could change with the Honda ZRV. Find out more below.

Overview

Honda WRV

The trademark application for the Honda ZRV was recently filed by the company. This car will be aimed at the youth and also for possibly first time buyers of this company. It will come in the sub-compact SUV segment. This name was registered in Australia but there is a big chance it could retain the name in different markets as well.

The letter Z has been specifically chosen to signify that the car is meant for younger buyers or for the generation Z. This will also mean that it is expected to come with some funky elements on it and a different design to attract the young buyers.

The company has recently introduced new Honda City in the Market

There is also a sub-four metre SUV that will be made specifically for emerging markets such as India, where small SUVs are hugely popular. Therefore this could be the newer version of the WRV that has been sold in our market. This will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and the Tata Nexon.

Like the trend that has taken over in the market, the Honda ZRV could indeed come with a turbo petrol engine as well. This will be a 1.0-litre petrol turbo. Apart from this, the car could also get the option of a 1.2-litre petrol i-VTEC and a 1.5-litre diesel i-DTEC. All of the engines will be made available with a manual as well as an automatic gearbox. Along with this there here is the list of all the features of the Honda Amaze which has been updated with BS6

The sub-four metre SUV will be based on the platform of the Honda Amaze to keep the costs low. The ZRV is not expected to make it in our market. It will be launched in developed markets such as Japan. The sub-compact SUV has a number of cars in the segment already. There will be even more coming such as the upcoming Skoda Vision IN and the Volkswagen Taigun and Nissan Magnite. The launch date of the product is unknown for now.
