Nissan Magnite SUV – Launch Details

Nissan cars have not gotten the success that the company would like in India. Even its sub-brand Datsun has gotten success only with the Redi Go. India is one of the under-performing markets for the company. But, Nissan plans to boost its sales by getting a sub-compact SUV in the market. This will be called the Nissan Magnite SUV. Nissan Magnite SUV design

The car is supposed to be well proportioned from all sides. The Magnite will look like no other Nissan which is there in the market. It will also get a good ground clearance along with big wheel arches to give it the necessary SUV look. The car will also have LED DRLs, alloy wheels along with big wheel-arches. The Nissan Magnite SUV will be a sub-four metre SUV and will be based on the CMFA + platform.

Engine and transmission

With diesel engines not being the choice in small cars, the Nissan Magnite SUV will only be expected to be launched with a petrol engine. There could be a 1.5-litre petrol that is seen on cars like the Kicks and the Duster. This engine produces 105 bhp and 142 nm of torque. There is also the possibility of this car getting a 1.0-litre turbo engine. This will be an upcoming engine in the Triber. This engine produces 98 bhp. It will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car could also get the option of the CVT or an AMT gearbox.

Nissan Magnite features

The car is also expected to have the latest features that will be seen in the segment. It will get stuff like parking cameras, steering mounted controls, connected car technology, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and automatic climate control. Along with these features, it will also have many safety features as standard in the car. The car also might get some segment-first features that are usually seen on more expensive cars to stand out from the competition. Sunroof could also be a standout feature in the car.

Pricing

This car will be priced slightly below the competition. Other cars in the segment are priced from Rs 6.7 lakhs in this segment. The Nissan Magnite SUV could undercut the other cars by around 1 lakh rupees. Meanwhile, the company is also planning to introduce the 1.3-litre turbo diesel from Mercedes in the Kicks. The Magnite will be launched around the end of this year.
