Honda CR-V 2018

The Honda CR-V has been completely revamped. This will now be a seven-seater and shall go up against the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. It is the first time that the CR-V will be a seven seater. This will do a whole lot good to the vehicle, especially in India. The CR-v lacked a diesel engine earlier and was a reason for its low sals. Now with both diesel and seven seats, the CR-V will be a much more desired SUV. This new SUV will be offered with a 2.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine.

Honda will now pbe competing with the best sellers in the segment. For the first time there will be a seven-seater version. The lack of diesel engine was one of the prime reasons for the crossover’s decline in sales. It seems that Honda has been listening. This will be a full loaded SUV with all bells and whistles. Upcoming SUV in India below 20 lakhs

Mahindra XUV300

This is an all new compact SUV that will be making its way into the Indian car market. The Mahindra XUV300, codenamedS201 is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli and heavily re-engineered for the Indian market and conditions. This will come with a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre petrol engine. There will be more than sufficient power and torque. This engine will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. In terms of features it will offer the best-in-class.

There will be all the bells and whistles like push start and stop button, touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and even reverse parking camera. This will be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 14 lakhs. This will be just above 4 metres in length. It will make it an exciting package and it will go up against the Hyundai Creta. Upcoming SUVs in India – Mahindra TUV300 Plus

Another new SUV from India’s leading SUV maker. This will be a budget 9-seater SUV that will go up against the Force Trax. This will be the extended version of the TUV300 and it will be offering more features and space. There will be an increase in the space for third row passengers, which is at the moment jump seats. This will offer seating for two people at the back. With the new crash norms coming in, Mahindra will want to be ready with a new product that could replace the longer Bolero. It will come with a 1.99-litre diesel engine that should churn about 120bhp of power and will be offered with a five-speed transmission.

This new SUV will be launched this year itself – 2018.

New Renault Duster

The new Renault Duster is likely to come to India by the second half on 2019. The current Duster has begun to show its age and hence the new model will be launched. The new Duster looks modern and is sleeker as well. It will be based on the same B0 platform , but will get enhanced styling. The interior will also be completely new. The same set of engines will do duty in this SUV. These are 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units.  The diesel will be tweaked to meet new emission norms. This will be a more improved vehicle.

Nissan Kicks SUV

Nissan is looking at upgrading its product portfolio. This new SUV will go up against the Creta and the Captur. This SUV will be made on the same Duster platform, but it will be offering more features and premium quality. At the moment, the Terrano misses out on premium factor, which can be fulfilled with the Nissan Kicks SUV. The engines on offer will remain the same.

Toyota C-HR

Toyota is looking at getting into the smaller SUV segment and this will be an ideal product to get. It looks stylish, it gets all the features, it is spacious, quick and highly efficient.  There are likely to be turbo petrol and diesel engines on offer. Petrol should come with six-speed automatic. Upcoming SUVs in India – Jeep Renegade

Another exciting new compact SUV that will make it to India. The Renegade has become quite popular worldwide and now it will also be launched in India. It will also be based on the SCA platform, which was used to make the Punto Evo and the Compass. Jeep will be launching its small SUV and this will be offering a lot more for its segment. There is a good possibility that this will have an option of 4×4 on a higher variant. This should come either with 1.6-litre diesel or 1.5-litre. The Renegade will make it into production by early 2019.

Hyundai Carlino – HOT LAUNCH ALERT

The Hyundai compact SUV, which was called as Carlino at the last Auto Expo. It is likely to come back this time too, but with more close to production version. Hyundai will be launching this new SUV in the Indian car market and it will be offering it against the Ford Ecosport, Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza. It will be offered with all the bells and whistles that are currently offered, in fact a lot more features too.

Hyundai will make this vehicle look boxy and more rugged. This SUV will be offered with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and there will be the 1.4-litre diesel engine too. This will be one of the hottest upcoming SUVs  for India.

Ford Kuga

Another new product from Ford, which is likely to show up soon. This will be a larger SUV that will go against the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson. This is an exciting segment to get into. Ford will offer a 2.0-litre diesel engine that will be offered with six-speed manual and automatic. Ford with this new SUV will be able to eat into Jeep Compass market. This will make it an exciting buy for many as Ford is a trusted brand by many and this will be the company’s opportunity to take away some of Jeep’s market share.

Skoda Karoq

A smaller SUV from Skoda after the Kodiaq. The Karoq will be Yeti replacement and this will share a lot of elements with the Kodiaq. Skoda is looking at targeting the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson too with this new SUV. Skoda will offering more safety features and of course, the quality and fit and finish of the materials are likely to be superior too.

Maruti has just tasted a major success with the Vitara Brezza and the company is working on an all new SUV against the Creta. This will be the Vitara. Maruti Suzuki is looking at capturing this segment with an all new SUV for the Indian car market. There shall be the 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.5-litre petrol engine. Mahindra U321

Let’s be clear, this isn’t an SUV. It is an MUV . As there are not many SUV launching,hence, we have included this one. This is another MUV from the Indian utility manufacturer. This will be the company’s only MUV in the near future. The Xylo will be gone. There shall be more than some comfortable seating for seven people. This will be a three row seating with sufficient space. The engine will be a 2.2-litre that will churn about 120bhp of power and it will have 5-speed manual transmission. In terms of petrol engine, there could even be a 140bhp powered 2.2-litre engine.

This will be a rear-wheel drive MUV. In terms of pricing this will be somewhere in the range of Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 19 lakhs. This will be undercutting the Innova Crysta. Mahindra will want to offer a premium MUV that will be more spacious than any of the other SUVs in the same price point.
