Mahindra TUV300 Plus is a full-size SUV that will be replacing the Mahindra Xylo. The TUV300 Plus will be larger than 4 meters. It will be a nine-seater. Unlike the TUV300, this will be a full-sized SUV.
Mahindra is looking at filling the gap between the compact SUVs and the Scorpio. This will be a good option for that. The Xylo has to be phased out as it would not meet the new safety regulations. Mahindra has been testing this new SUV for a while already. We have shared spy shots of this new SUV on multiple occasions. This new SUV will have more features like daytime running LEDs, LED tail lamps and even 16-inch wheels.
A 2.2-litre mHawk engine will be used for this SUV. This is the D120, hence it will churn 120bhp of power and it will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The second row of seats will have more knee room and the third row will be more spacious too. This will make it good enough for a family of seven. The TUV300 has limited knee room in the second row and jump seats are meant for kids only.

In terms of pricing, this will be an all-new SUV and a new product. It will be priced in between the TUV300 and the Scorpio. We reckon the pricing shall be between Rs 10.5 lakhs to Rs 14 lakhs for the top model. This will be apt pricing for this vehicle. If the pricing is lower than this, it will be aggressive.

To begin with, the design of the SUV looks more proportionate. The design of this new SUV makes it look balanced. The fascia is the same and the tough look continues. What’s more? The square headlamps now have daytime running LEDs integrated into them. The same square fog laps continue with chrome surround. The side profile is where the design sees a change in dimensions.
The compact look made the TUV look a bit out of place, but now that isn’t the case. The rear hasn’t changed either. At the most we can expect LED tail lamps could replace the current bulb to make it look cool at night. The tyre size, wheelbase won’t be changed. It has seen a stretch in the platform at the back. Should this improve the ride and handling of the SUV? We cannot say that.

On the inside too, there won’t be a major change in the styling. To begin with, they will have the same set of interiors. There shall be no different in the design. The dashboard layout is simple and subtle. There might be an addition of new features too. It won’t get a touchscreen system. There will be basic features on this SUV. The company is looking at higher commercial use of it. In terms of other features, there will be dual airbags and ABS. Mostly not as a standard offering.
In terms of space, the front seats have more than sufficient room and offer a good amount of space. The second row also offers a good amount of space and here to more than sufficient space for three people. The third row is now roomier than before. It does offer more space and we reckon there will be AC vents too for the rear passengers.

A 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine will be powering the TUV. This will be churning about 120bhp of power and it shall have about 280Nm of maximum torque. This is the same engine that has been derived from the 2.2-litre mHawk. Mahindra will want to give sufficient power for this bigger SUV. All those who are looking for a more powerful option can opt for this. These were the specifications of the previous car but now this will see a drop so as to maintain the BS6 compliance. The car was spotted testing for the emissions compliance.
This engine shall come with a five-speed manual transmission. There won’t be an automatic/AMT on offer. This will be a rear-wheel-drive car. This SUV is targeted at the commercial segment.
Mahindra TUV300 Plus Mileage
Mahindra SUVs aren’t very high on mileage especially the mHawk engine. We reckon this should return about 10km/l in the city and close to 14km/l on the highway.
