Hero will be entering the 125cc scooter segment, which seems to be growing currently. The Hero Dare 125, which is a new 125cc scooter, was earlier showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. This was concept at that time. The new Hero Dare will be fitted with an all-new 125cc engine. This engine will be share a lot with the Hero Glamour 125. The new Dare 125 will be the first 125cc scooter from the company. Honda has recently launched the Grazia 125 and Hero will look at taking that head-on. Hero has been trying hard to establish its scooters in a big way. The Hero Duet has been received well in the market. Now, the company is looking a enhancing its reach in the 125cc segment as well. Hero Dare Colours

Hero Dare colours – at the moment we aren’t certain. The scooter has been showcased in red colour so far and we reckon there shall be a white, grey and even silver on offer. There could be other exciting colours like blue and even purple, which could be offered on the Dare. This scooter will see an increment trendy colours.

Hero Dare 125 Launch Date in India

The new Hero Dare 125 scooter should be launched by mid 2018. The unveil would happen at the Auto Expo 2018. This will be one of the attractions at the Hero stall. The 125cc segment will see more products from Hero in the near future. This includes both motorcycles and scooters. We aren’t certain if the same Dare name will continue on this scooter.

The price range of the Hero Dare 125 will be in the same range as other 125cc scooters. There is a possibility that Hero will undercut the competition like Honda and Suzuki in terms of pricing. This has always been a strong point for Hero MotoCorp and they would like to do the same here as well. Expect the scooter to cost around INR 67,000 to INR 71,000 (on-road).

Hero Dare vs Honda Activa 125

This will be the direct competition to the Honda Activa 125. There will be many comparisons between the Hero Dare vs Honda Activa 125. Both these products will offer good presence in the market and will be looking at covering good amount of ground with their new scooter. Hero Mastero Edge did compete with the Activa 3G for a long time, until sometime back when it started to loose its market share. Hero has a good opportunity to get a strong 125cc scooter as at the moment, Honda isn’t very strong in the 125cc scooter segment. This will be a good opportunity to capitalise on this market segment.

Activa 125 looses out on features to the Dare. The Hero Dare is an exciting new scooter that will help Hero cover some ground in major cities.

Hero Dare 125 Design

The new Dare 125 will be a stylish looking scooter. In terms of look it will be more aggressive and modern as compared to the Maestro Edge. This will have at 12-inch wheels on offer. The Dare 125 will have an LED headlamp along with LED daytime running lights. This will add some more flair to this scooter. Alloy wheels and a front disc will be a standard feature on the Hero Dare. Customers in this segment opt for these features and prefer them as standard.

There will be a large storage cavity under the seat. There shall be USB charging and an LED light in the storage box. The tail lamp will also be an LED one and will make the scooter look attractive. There shall be front hooks too, to carry bags. The fit and finish will be better than earlier scooters from Hero. This will be in a more premium segment hence, Hero will offer more features like a digital instrument console, good quality switchgear and even the seat fabric.

A new 125cc engine shall be powering the Hero Dare 125. This single-cylinder mill will churn about 9.5bhp of power and about 10Nm of maximum torque. This engine will have a V-matic transmission. It is the same on other scooters from Hero as well. The engine will be tuned in line with the transmission. It is expected to have a seamless power delivery. The Hero Dare 125 will be a refined scooter and the engine will be quite powerful. It can easily be used in the city and also will be better on the highway, as it will have more power. this is the same engine that is there on the Glamour carb version.

The difference is that the engine will offer different state of tune and it will come with CVT instead of a four-speed. This engine will peppy than the Maestro Edge. The difference will be the response and moving form about 0-40km/hr.  Post that the difference can be felt at about 70km/hr, where this engine will pull more strongly than the 110cc.

Hero Dare 125 Mileage

A 125cc scooter like the Dare should return about 40 km/l as an average mileage. In the city it should be about 38-39 km/l, while on the highway it goes up to 45 km/l. The company claimed mileage should be about 55-60 km/l. These are ideal conditions for it.

Hero Dare 125 Competition

The Hero Dare 125 will compete mainly with the Honda Grazia 125. There other competitor will be the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125. It will be interesting to see how Hero would price this new scooter.
