Honda PCX 150 likely launching in February 2017

Honda PCX 150 is likely to make it into India. This will be the company’s first-ever 150cc scooter for the Indian market. The Japanese bike maker had showcased the 125cc version of this scooter back at the 2014 Auto Expo and it was labelled as ‘motor scooter’. However, the PCX shall be coming as a 150cc scooter. Designed to appeal and look more upmarket. What are the features, what will this scooter offer? We share all the details.

Honda PCX 150 Price in India

This is one of the most important aspects. Now, the Aprilia SR 150 has been priced at about INR 76,000 (on-road, New Delhi), but the Honda won’t be this affordable.

The Honda scooter won’t be just about performance, it will be about be style, luxury and features. So the pricing of this scooter shall be higher than the Aprilia, but more affordable than the Vespa. So, expect the pricing to be close INR 87,000 (on-road).

Honda PCX 150 Specifications

The PCX 150 shall be powered by a 153cc engine that will be a single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. This one will churn close to 14bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 14Nm at 5,000rpm. This engine will come mated to V-Matic transmission. This might not be as good as the Aprilia in handling, but in outright performance, it won’t be far behind either. Where this scooter shall excel will be better comfort and even a more pliant ride. This shall enhance the bike’s ability to ride better and more comfortable for daily use.

Honda PCX 150 Features

One of the most popular scooters in Europe, the Honda PCX 150 will be coming with an aggressive design. The 150cc scooter shall have LED headlamp and tail lamp.

At the same time, the scooter will get a 12V power outlet. There shall be good amount of storage space underneath the scooter. The long contoured seat will mean comfortable long rides. The scooter will have telescopic fork and twin sided swing arm.

The scooter shall be offered with 14-inch wheels for the front and the rear. At the same time, the fuel tank capacity should be about 8 litres. The front brakes will be disc, while the rear shall have drum.

This will get Combi-Brake too.

Honda PCX 150 Launch Date

We expect Honda to start shipping this scooter in the next 10-15 days. The launch will happen in February 2017. The Japanese bike maker will not want to wait any longer as it is working towards getting the scooter quickly into the market.

Honda PCX 150 Mileage

As this is a scooter it has automatic transmission. We reckon the mileage of this scooter should be about 35-40 km/l, depending on how you ride. The company claimed mileage should be somewhere close to 50-55 km/l.
