Renault Kwid Easy R launch on 7th November

Renault Kwid Easy R is the AMT version for the upcoming hatchback’s automatic version. The Easy R term is used by Renault for automated manual transmission systems. First came the Duster and now the Kwid is getting it. The Kwid has been a runaway success for Renault and since then there has no looking back. The new Kwid was launched with 800cc petrol engine. Later on came the 1.0-litre and now it is the Kwid Easy R with the 1.0-litre against the Alto K10 AMT. How good is the Alto? We share our detailed preview of the Renault Kwid Easy-R.

Renault Kwid Easy R Design

There is no change in the design of the Kwid Easy R, however it gets an Easy R badge at the rear. The 1.0-litre Kwid’s chequered coloured for the rocker. The entire SUV look has been retained on the Kwid.

This makes it look stylish and appealing. The front grille is black with the large diamond logo. The side profile does retain the same SUV stance and a ground clearance of 180mm. The mirrors have been changed. These are better than before. They now come in a housing. The rear also looks stylish. There is no doubt that this does look stylish and appealing.

Renault Kwid Easy R Interiors

Interiors is where the change has happened. Not in features, not in design but the gear stick has been moved out and it gets replaced by a rotary gear knob. This frees up the space for storage. Whats good is that this makes it convenient and easier to use also. As one doesn’t needs to change gears that often, this is a good option to have.

However, what it goes missing on is tiptronic transmission. This is a good option for those who always like to keep things under control.

The Easy R is available only on the RxT variant. Renault has introduced this variant only with the Easy R.

So, the features available shall be digital instrument cluster, touchscreen system with navigation and bluetooth, two speakers, driver airbag and chunky steering wheel to grip. The Kwid still misses out on dual airbags and ABS. In terms of space, there is no compromise. This is one of the most spacious in its segment, be it any of the rows. The boot too is the largest in its class with 300 litres. Renault has turned around its fortunes in India with the new Kwid. This hatchback does offer a lot more than the competition.

Renault Kwid Easy R Engine

The 1.0-litre engine will continue to power the new Kwid. Renault is looking at enhancing its reach with the new Easy R. There have been a lot of people waiting for the two pedal Kwid and it is coming up soon. The new Kwid will have a 5-speed AMT and it will produce the same 67bhp of power. In terms of performance, the Kwid Easy R is a lot more superior to the competition. The Kwid Easy R will be easier to drive.

Renault Kwid Easy R Price

The price of the Kwid Easy R will be about INR 40,000 more than the regular Kwid 1.0. So, this will be trasnlate to to under INR 5 lakhs (on-road).

Renault Kwid Easy R Variants

There will be only one variant on the Easy R, which will be the RxT and the RxT (O). There won’t be any other trim levels for this transmission. As not many buyers in the mid-trim prefer automatics, Renault will offer it only on the RxT variants.
