September saw a lot of action with several new cars launched. The main highlight had to be the launch of Nexon and Nexon EV facelifts. Other launches include the Honda Elevate, Volvo C40 recharge and Mercedes EQE SUV. Now, in October, we can see the same trend continuing. In today’s article, let’s talk about all the upcoming cars in October 2023.

Nissan Magnite AMT/Kuro edition

Nissan Magnite is going to get two major updates in October. The first is expected to be the addition of a new AMT gearbox. The Magnite missed out on an automatic option on its 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Magnite’s sibling, the Kiger came with this combination right from the launch. It will help Nissan bridge the gap between the 1.0-litre petrol manual and 1.0-litre turbo petrol manual. We don’t expect any other changes. The Magnite comes with features like a 7-inch infotainment, 360-degree camera, cruise control, auto AC and more. We think the AMT would be around Rs 60k to 70k more expensive than similar specced petrol variants.

Nissan is also gearing up to launch the Magnite Kuro edition just before the cricket World Cup being its official sponsor. The Kuro edition is essentially a blacked-out version of the Magnite, as Kuro means black in Japanese. The Kuro edition will be available in both engine options. It will also come with the above-mentioned AMT gearbox. In the exterior, we have blacked out elements like skid plates, roof rails, black grille etc. Interiors, too, have the same blacked-out treatment on the door pad and instrument cluster. New features include wireless charging, a centre armrest and a new IRVM. The Magnite Kuro edition could be Rs 30k to 40k more expensive than the equivalently specced variants.

Lexus LM

New cars October 2023

At the Auto Expo, Lexus had showcased the LM in India, but that was the first generation model. Now, Lexus is launching the second-generation model in India. In August, Lexus had opened the bookings of LM. According to reports, Lexus has received over 100 bookings for the LM. The LM takes the luxury quotient of the Vellfire to the next level. We have an aggressive and blingy design upfront. On the LM, you get various seating options – 4-seater, 6 & 7-seater. For entertainment, you have a 48-inch TV mounted between the front and second-row seating. To supplement it we have a 23-speaker surround sound system, pillow-styled headrests and an ottoman function. Specs-wise, it is expected to come with a 2.5-litre petrol hybrid engine. What about the pricing? The Vellfire is priced from Rs 1.42 crore and going to Rs 1.54 crore (on-road, Mumbai). Considering this, we can expect the LM to touch Rs 1.80 crore to Rs 2 crore (on-road, Mumbai).

New cars October 2023 – Tata Harrier/Safari facelift

New cars October 2023

Now this is not confirmed, but there is a high possibility that Tata could launch the Harrier & Safari facelifts in October. This is considering some dealers have already started taking unofficial bookings. Dealers doing this is a strong hint that the launch is just around the corner. Talking about the updates, both the facelifted cars are going to major design updates. We could see a new grille, bonnet-wide DRL and new front bumpers. Other changes include connected tail lamps and new alloy wheels. In the interiors, we could see a new dashboard layout with a floating infotainment system. Other new features include a new UI on the instrument cluster, a 4-spoke steering wheel, touch-sensitive HVAC controls and more connected car features etc. The facelifts will continue with the 2.0-litre diesel engine, sadly they will miss out on the petrol engine options. Pricing-wise, both SUVs could see an increase of Rs 60k to 70k depending upon the variants.
