Safety is slowly becoming a priority in the Indian market. As the market matures, people are looking to buy safer cars. Hyundai Tucson
Earlier this month, Hyundai unveiled the much anticipated new-generation Tucson in India. The new Tucson gets the Parametric Jewel design and premium interiors, however, the biggest highlight is the addition of Level 2 ADAS. Hyundai Tucson gets features like Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Assistance, etc. Hyundai will be launching the new Tucson on the 4th of August.
Upcoming cars with ADAS – Hyundai IONIQ 5
The IONIQ 5 will replace Tucson as Hyundai’s premium offering in India. It is also one of the most advanced cars in Hyundai’s global portfolio. So, unsurprisingly it comes with ADAS Level 2 technology. Its ADAS gets features like Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, etc. The IONIQ 5 will come through the CBU route and is expected to be cheaper than its Kia sibling, the EV6.
MG Hector
The MG Hector is one of the most feature-loaded cars in the market. Now MG is taking this one step further by bringing its new generation. Recently, MG teased the 14-inch infotainment system of the new Hector. What else can we expect? Hector will also come with ADAS and we had speculated this a long time back. It could get Level 2 ADAS like the Astor.
Upcoming cars with ADAS – Mahindra XUV400
Mahindra is making a grand comeback in the EV segment with the XUV400. The XUV400 is the electric version of the XUV300, but with a twist. So what is this twist? The XUV400 will be longer than the XUV300 and also come with a lot of new features. It is also rumoured to get ADAS as Mahindra will be looking to make it a ground-breaking product. XUV400 is expected to see launch sometime around September.
Hyundai Creta facelift
The Creta is Hyundai’s most profitable car in India. Last year, Hyundai launched the Creta facelift in Indonesia and was recently launched in South Africa. The facelifted Creta comes with a new Tucson-inspired design and some new features. It also gets ADAS functionality. Hyundai has plans to trickle down the ADAS functionality to its other cars as well. The Creta is thus expected to get Level 2 ADAS with features like Lane Following Assist, Rear Cross-traffic Collision Avoidance Assist and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist. Creta facelift is expected to come by the end of this year or early next year.
Kia Seltos facelift
Following the Creta would be its sister car, the Kia Seltos. Kia recently launched the Seltos facelift in South Korea. It gets a new design and polished interiors. One of the biggest new features in the Seltos is ADAS. Like the Creta, the Seltos also get Level-2 ADAS. Some of the prominent ADAS features include Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Avoidance Assist, etc. The Seltos facelift is expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 in the country.
Upcoming cars with ADAS – New Hyundai Verna
Another Hyundai car to get ADAS is expected to be the new Verna. Hyundai is already testing the Verna in South Korea and was also spotted in India. It could get ADAS features similar to Creta. So what can we expect? ADAS features like Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Blind-spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Following Assist, etc. The new Verna is expected to be launched by the end of this year in South Korea. What about the India launch? In India, the new Verna is expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023, with a launch post-Auto Expo.
