The C-SUV segment is one of the fastest-growing segments in India but has long been ruled by Hyundai Creta. Over the years, a lot of cars have tried to take on the Creta but to no avail. However, one car that has managed to give a very tough fight to the Creta is the Kia Seltos. Thanks to the initial push brought in by the Seltos, Kia India has managed to sell 5 lakh cars in a span of just 3 years. Coming back to the topic at hand, Hyundai is all set to bring in a Creta facelift in the country. Kia also has plans to bring the Seltos facelift which was recently revealed in South Korea. So which one should you actually wait for? In today’s article on new Seltos vs the new Creta, let’s compare both of them.

Updated exterior designs

First, let’s talk about the Creta facelift design changes. The new Creta gets a radical design change at the front. It now sports a Tucson-like front fascia with jewel shaped grille. Hyundai calls this grille ‘Parametric Jewel design’ which has LED DRLs integrated into the grille. The side profile is identical to the current model. At the rear, we have a new tailgate design as well as a reworked tail lamp design.

What about the new Seltos? The Seltos is a car that has always been popular for its bold looks. With the updates, Kia is taking this one step further. Kia has tweaked the grille design extending it a bit. Also, the DRL now cuts the grille in half rather than running over it like the current model. The side profile is more or less identical. What about the rear? Kia has re-designed the rear with an inverted L-shaped grille connecting in the middle. Which design impresses you more? Do let us know in the comments.

Updated interiors & features

The Creta facelift doesn’t get many changes in the interior. It gets the same interior design barring some added new features. The first standout change is the new digital instrument cluster similar to the Alcazar. It also gets more connected car features. What about ADAS? The Creta facelift launched in Indonesia does come with ADAS functionality, and we can expect it on the Indian version as well.

The Seltos facelift gets more prominent changes in the interior. It now gets two different dashboard upholstery one in black finish and the other in dual-tone black and beige. What about new equipment? We get to see a new curved single-piece display integrating the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system. Kia has also updated the central console, giving it a futuristic look. Could Kia offer ADAS as well? Possibly, since most upcoming products in this segment are expected to come with this tech.

The specifications are expected to remain the same for both the SUVs.

New Seltos vs new Creta – Which is better?

So now, which is a better pick? This is difficult to answer as different buyers have different perspectives. The Creta facelift will mostly get more cosmetic changes on the exterior but not many in the interior. On the other hand, Seltos gets quite a few exterior changes as well as some interior changes, striking a balance between the two. In terms of features, both will be feature-loaded cars. So, our suggestion would be to wait for both the cars since the new tech and design might change your perspective. So which will be your pick? Do let us know in the comments.
