The Altroz was one car that was begging for an automatic option. Earlier this year, Tata finally launched the DCA gearbox on the Altroz. Tata has developed this DCA gearbox keeping in mind the Indian conditions. Unlike other mass-market DCT cars, the Altroz DCA uses wet clutch technology. What about the engine? The DCA gearbox is paired to the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. Pricing of the Altroz DCA starts from Rs 9.73 lakh and goes to Rs 11.74 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Maruti Brezza AT

The all-new Brezza is a car that has always been popular in the Compact SUV segment. With the recent update, Maruti has covered several weak points of the old Brezza. The new Brezza now gets a 6-speed automatic transmission, replacing the 4-speed one. This gearbox is paired to a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine capable of producing 103bhp & 138Nm of torque. Under Rs 15 lakh, you can get the ZXi variant of the Brezza. The pricing of this variant is Rs 14.70 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).

The Magnite has played an important part in Nissan’s revival in India. The Magnite has done so with its long feature list and pricing. Nissan has also priced the CVT gearbox quite competitively in that respect. This CVT gearbox is paired to a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine capable of producing 98bhp & 152Nm of torque. The pricing of the Magnite CVT starts from Rs 10.38 lakh and goes to Rs 12.49 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

More or less, you can also consider the Renault Kiger which offers the same configuration in its higher variants.

Hyundai Venue iMT

Another car that recently got an update has been the Venue. In this update, Hyundai has given the exterior a major design update. The Venue comes with an iMT (intelligent manual transmission) option. It is a semi-automatic option but does provide convenience. It eliminates the process of pressing the clutch, but you have to shift the gears manually. The pricing of the Venue iMT starts from Rs 11.61 lakh and goes to Rs 14.05 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). 

Diesel

Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition AT

The Kia Sonet entered the compact segment with a bang. The Sonet diesel is powered by a 1.5-litre engine capable of producing 113bhp & 250Nm of torque mated to a torque converter gearbox. This engine is known for its power and high mileage figures. The Sonet shares this engine with the Seltos as well. This means that you get a powerful engine but with lighter weight to pull. This makes it a really fun to drive car. Under Rs 15 lakh, you can get the Anniversary Edition of Sonet diesel as well. The pricing of this variant is Rs 14.85 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The Amaze is Honda’s compact sedan in India. The Amaze comes with the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine capable of producing 78bhp & 160Nm of torque mated to a CVT gearbox. Surprisingly, the Amaze shares the diesel engine with the City, but the City misses out on the automatic option. Nevertheless, the diesel automatic is available only on the top trim, which costs Rs 13.62 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
