Mahindra Bolero Neo pickup trucks spotted testing

Mahindra has been quite aggressively updating its cars in India. It recently launched the Bolero Neo and the new XUV700.  Mahindra is also expected to update a lot of its existing cars like the Scorpio and Bolero. It is already testing the new-generation Scorpio and will soon also start testing the new-generation Bolero. But Mahindra is also focusing on its commercial vehicles. We have now spotted a Mahindra pickup truck in testing. In today’s article, we will see the spotted Mahinda pickup trucks in testing.

What was spotted?

A pickup truck with camouflage was spotted by one of our readers at night. It is easy to figure out this is a Mahindra pick up due to its cabin exterior design. Due to the camouflage and night conditions, it is hard to figure out many details. But it seems to be a pickup based on the Bolero. Also, the carrier is loaded with goods, so maybe Mahindra is testing its load capacity.

What could it be?

From the spy shots, it seems that Mahindra is giving the Bolero Camper a big facelift. As the cabin dimensions look similar to the Bolero Camper. In this facelift, Mahindra might give it some subtle design changes and features. Another possibility could be that Mahindra is testing a pickup based on the Bolero Neo. But this will prove more expensive than the Bolero Camper as the Neo is based on a newer platform.

Pickup trucks have remained quite a niche segment in India. But things are changing as we see more and more manufacturers enter the pickup market. Toyota is rumoured to bring its Hilux pickup in India. To counter this, Mahindra might also develop a pickup truck based on the Thar. This Thar based pickup can help Mahindra to compete with the Hilux.
