Mahindra as a carmaker is loved in the country. Mahindra cars are known for their solid build quality and sturdy road presence. However, the brand is not just limited to India. Mahindra sells cars in markets like South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, etc. Also, the products are decided based on the requirements and the market needs. Due to this, there are a few products that are available in foreign markets but are not made available here. Today, we are talking about one such product, the Mahindra Scorpio Pickup. This car is available in a market like South Africa. In this article, we will briefly look at the Mahindra Scorpio Pickup truck.
Design
The Mahindra Scorpio pickup truck (called Scorpio Pikup in South Africa) gets the same front fascia as the regular SUV. However, being a pickup makes the difference in the cabin and the rear. The car is available as a single cab and a dual cab. Both cars are available with a large bed at the rear that offers a maximum payload capacity of 1200kg (single cab) and 1000kg (double cab). The trucks also get a 2500kg braked towing capacity. Also, the Scorpio pickup comes with tail lamps that were made available with the first version of this SUV. With that being said, Mahindra has also made available variants known as ‘Karoo’ which look really mean. These variants get black alloy wheels, roll bar, rain deflectors, front nudge bar and Tonneau cover.
Dimensions & Variants
The single cab variant is 5175mm long, 1820mm wide and 1860mm tall. The single cab sits on a 3040mm long wheelbase and gets a ground clearance of 210mm. The double-cab variant is 5175mm long, 1820mm wide and 1915mm tall. The dual-cab also sits on a 3040mm long wheelbase and gets a ground clearance of 210mm. The single cab variant is available in 7 variants (5 S4 variants & 2 S6 variants). The double cab is available in 12 variants (4 S6 variants, 4 S10 variants & 4 S11 variants).
Specifications
The pickup trucks are available with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk turbo-diesel engine that makes 138bhp and 320Nm of torque. The single cab is made available with a 6-speed manual gearbox, whereas the dual cab gets 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. Both cars are available with 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrain options. Both get 16-inch wheels.

The single cab gets features like an infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, 12V charging ports, AC and power windows. The double cab gets features like a touchscreen infotainment system and follow-me-headlamps over the single cab. In terms of safety, ABS with EBD, digital immobilizer and dual front airbags are made available.
Pricing
The single cab variant of the Mahindra Scorpio pickup truck starts from Rs 11.17 Lakh and goes up to Rs 16.44 Lakh. The double cab starts from Rs 16.91 Lakh and goes up to Rs 22.56 Lakh.
