New Maruti Swift competition coming soon
The Maruti Swift is one of the best selling cars in India. Over the years, it has developed from a boxy design to a more mature curvy design. It is known for its reliability and fuss-free ownership. The Tata Tiago is another car that is in this segment. It gives decent competition to the Swift. But now Tata is looking to give the Tiago a new generation to better compete with the Swift. New platform
Currently, the Tata Tiago is built on the X0 platform. In its new generation, it will be based upon the ALFA Architecture. Other cars using this platform are the Altroz and the upcoming Punch. The Current Tiago comes with a 4-star rating. With the newer platform, Tata would look to get an even better rating to make the Tiago the safest car in this segment.
Maruti Swift competition design
The current Tiago is built on the Impact 2.0 design language. This new generation will be based on the Impact 3.0 design language. The new generation will also get updated dynamics. It is speculated to be 10mm longer, 78mm wider and 5mm taller than the current generation. Other exterior changes will include an updated grille with a new headlight. It will also get new bumpers, faux skid plate and tri-arrow elements. The side and rear profile will also get updated design lines.
Maruti Swift competition features
Tata will load the new generation to attract new customers. It is expected to get a smart key, new infotainment system, cruise control, ambient lighting, engine start-stop, all seats adjustable headrests, automatic headlamps and LED headlamps.
Launch and price
The Tiago got its last facelift in 2019. So the new generation is expected to come by 2023. Currently, the Tiago starts from Rs 6.02 lakh and goes to Rs 8.40 lakh(on-road, Mumbai). The new generation will be Rs 50-60k more expensive than the current generation.
