Maruti to load Rs 9 lakh SUV with more features
The Maruti Vitara Brezza is one of the best selling cars in the market today. It is known for its highly reliable engine. However, the car in its current avatar has started to feel outdated. Maruti has not brought in any major change on the Brezza since its launch in 2016. The car faces stiff competition from cars like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, etc. In order to retain its strong hold in the segment, Maruti is expected to be working on a new generation update for this car. The new Maruti Vitara Brezza is expected to get a new look, with a more curvy nature similar to the other newer generation Maruti cars. New headlamps and taillamps are expected to give it a more modern look. The new generation will also get new body panels and alloy wheels. New colour options are also expected to be made available with the car. On the interior front, the car is expected to come with more soft-touch materials, new upholstery along with better cabin ergonomics.
Features
Features have become very important these days. The competition in this segment has also risen a lot, with cars coming with lots of segment-first features. To tackle the rivals, Maruti will offer the car with multiple new features. Wireless charging, a big touchscreen infotainment system, improved connected car tech, ambient lighting, new instrument cluster, etc. are expected to be made available in the next update. The Brezza already comes with connected car tech, but it is quite limited compared to the other cars. So we expect Brezza to get a much more developed connected car tech for the new generation.
Maruti Rs 9 lakh SUV specifications
The Maruti Vitara Brezza will be based on the Heartect platform. Maruti is expected to retain the 1.5-litre engine from the current Brezza. However, we expect the engine to undergo re-tuning in order to produce more power. Apart from this, Maruti is expected to offer a hybrid engine as well. As for the diesel engine, Maruti is working on it and we can expect the newer generation to get a diesel engine as well.
Pricing & launch
We expect the price to be hiked by Rs 50,000 to Rs 65,000 over the current-generation car. As far as the launching is concerned, we expect the car to launch during the first half of 2022.
