The KTM RC390 was discontinued and is expected to get a major update soon. The bike in its previous avatar was the most track-focused in the Indian bike market. There has been a lot of KTM RC390 new details that have been floating around. In this article, we are going to take a look at what is actually expected from this track machine from KTM. Would it even remain worthy of the track machine title?

New KTM Duke 390 – All you need to know

New KTM RC390 Features

In terms of features, the RC390 did not get the updates from Duke 390. For starters, the bike will now get a new TFT display. We are expecting it to be the same one from Duke 390 but there could be some changes in terms of graphics and colours of the display. KTM will give this bike traction control and switchable rear ABS. There will also be a bi-directional quick shifter which was eagerly expected on the RC390 and should have been introduced first as it is quite a track-focused feature.

The next change accompanying the instrument cluster will be the changed switch of the handlebars. On the left now you will get the joystick style controls to toggle through the menu. Both the brake and the clutch lever will be adjustable.

New KTM RC390 Design

From the spy shots that have surfaced, we can clearly state that the KTM RC390 will shade the frame and subframe with that of the Duke. The body panels will be different giving it a track look. Also, there will be a clip-on that will add to the riding stance. Other KTM RC390 new details about design include that the height of the clip-on will increase. It will have comfortable riding dynamics but is it better than we will leave it up to you to decide.

KTM RC390 Engine

The KTM RC390 did not suffer any drop in power with it’s BS6 version. The bike is expected to perform better and have more power. We would love to see the engine be tuned in a slightly different manner that will make it more usable everyday. Even a sprocket change would do the trick. But the last thing enthusiasts want is that it becomes sedate or a blunt weapon on track.

Price

After some digging around, we found information from a dealer we found that they have been started accepting unofficial bookings from potential customers. The ex-showroom price is expected somewhere around Rs 3,10,000. Looking forward to the launch of more KTM RC390 new details.
