Kia Carnival as a product sits between the high-end ultra-luxurious MPVs like the Toyota Vellfire and the affordable MPVs like the Maruti Ertiga. The MPV blends luxury with features, a USP of Kia. It becomes a great option for people who love to be chauffeur-driven but are looking for something beyond sedans. The car although sits somewhere in between, but still comes at a high price. Kia Carnival starts at Rs 30.41 Lakh (on-road Mumbai) and goes all the way up to Rs 41.24 Lakh (on-road Mumbai). This price bracket might fall out of the budget for many. So, there needs to be a product that can undercut Carnival in terms of pricing but still maintain the premium feel. MG does have a product perfectly suited for this. It is called the G10. The car was showcased during the Auto Expo 2020. In this article, we will discuss this Rs 25 Lakh MPV from MG.

7-seater MPV the next big thing from Kia?

Design

The MG G10 might feel boring when placed next to the Kia. With that being said, nothing purposeful will be removed from the MPV. The side profile on the car will look simple with a massive glass area starting from B-pillar all the way to the C-pillar. Other than this, the car will retain a minimal overall look with nothing flashy to be added to the exterior. On the inside, the car will get different seating configurations for the buyer to select from. The car will come with necessary features that are expected from a product in this price bracket which we will talk about in a bit.

Dimensions

MG Rs 25 Lakh MPV

The MG G10 is 5168mm long, 1980mm wide and 1928mm tall. This makes it a really tall car. The MG G10 sits on a 3198mm. Looking at the dimensions, it becomes self-explanatory that the MG G10 would provide an impressive headroom. Moreover, with a long wheelbase, MG might be able to offer much better legroom and knee-room even for passengers sitting in the last row.

Specifications

MG Rs 25 Lakh MPV

The MG G10 is expected to come powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that we get to see on the Hector. However, we expect the engine to be re-tuned to make more power for the G10. The car is also expected to come sat on 17-inch wheels, making it a product with a focus on handling & ride quality.

Features

We expect MG to load this car with all the bells and whistles that the brand has in its bag. A panoramic sunroof, electric sliding 2nd-row door, a big touchscreen infotainment system with i-SMART, connected car technology, ventilated seats, a 360-degree parking camera and many others. We also expect MG to load the car with all sorts of safety features, similar to what it does with its other products as well. ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera & sensors, front parking sensors, electronic parking brake, ISOFIX and 4 disc brakes could be some of the prominent safety features.

Should MG 7-seater competition for Ertiga come to India?

Pricing

As mentioned above, the car will be a direct rival to the Carnival. Now, MG would try to undercut Carnival in terms of pricing since the price point at which the Carnival takes position would make it difficult for MG to attract buyers. We expect MG to bring the MPV with a starting price tag of Rs 25 Lakh (on-road).
