Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been one of the best-selling MPV in the country, and it has got many reasons to be. The car comes from the Maruti stable meaning it is easy to maintain, and it also has a lot of value to offer for its asking price. Although some cars like the Mahindra Marazzo have tried to compete with the Ertiga, but have not been able to do much harm to the Maruti MPV. However, MG Motors does have a product which it has showcased during the Auto Expo 2020 called the MG 360M that has high potential to take on the Ertiga. In this article, we will discuss this MG 7-seater Ertiga competition. Let’s go.

Why Honda City outsells Maruti Ciaz?

MG-360M-Specs

The MG 360M looks like a really premium product from the outside as well as the inside. It follows a very similar silhouette to that of the Ertiga. It gets LED DRLs, LED tail lamps and 15-inch alloy wheels which enhance the style factor of the car. The car would be available in 6-seater as well as a 7-seater layout. On the inside, it car gets leather seats which enhance the overall appeal of the cabin. Also, the 2nd & 3rd-row seats fold flat, enhancing the practicality of the boot. Overall, the car if brought here would give a tough fight to the Maruti MPV with its design and upmarket interiors.

Engine & Transmission

The MPV comes powered by a 1.5-litre Petrol engine which produces 103bhp and 135Nm of torque. This petrol unit is mated to a CVT unit. If MG brings it to India, we expect to see the car getting a diesel engine as well. Also, an additional manual gearbox is mostly expected.

Features

MG360M

In terms of key safety features, the car gets TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), dual airbags at the front and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) by Bosch. For the convenience of passengers, an electric sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment system, 2nd-row AC vents, 3rd-row amenities like cup holders & charging ports, a multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, wireless charging and a digital instrument cluster are expected with the MPV.

Pricing

MG 360

The MG Ertiga competition if priced right in the country does have a lot of potential to overshadow the Ertiga. It gets premium interiors, better design and is bigger in dimensions. We expect MG to keep its MPV Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 pricier than the Ertiga. The extra asking price would be justified for the premium elements the 360M has on offer.
