7-seater MPV the next big thing from Kia?
Kia India had recently given itself a relaunch in the country. Along with that, the brand had also brought the updated Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet. Both these cars have been giving a tough fight to other cars in their competition. Kia along with these cars also has an MPV in the country that has not been able to garner a lot of customers. It is now being speculated that the brand is preparing another MPV for the country, however this time it will not be a very premium one but will compete with cars like Mahindra Marazzo and Maruti XL6. Design
The Kia 7-seater MPV is expected to be a sporty-looking product that could give a tough time to other cars in its competition. Kia has managed to play the styling game quite successfully in the country and we expect to see that with the MPV as well. The MPV will be based on the Seltos’ platform, however, the overhang would be increased in order to accommodate the extra seating. The MPV will sport the brand’s signature tiger-nose grille which makes the cars from Kia stand apart. Also, the new Kia logo will now be present on the MPV.
Interiors
The Kia MPV will be made available as a 6-seater as well as a 7-seater on the inside. It is expected to come with upmarket interiors that will make the cabin a much premium place to be in. The interior could be based on a dual-tone theme. The Kia MPV will be offered with captain seats in the 6-seater variants. Also, the cabin could be made more upmarket by adding ambient lighting inside the cabin.
Features
The Kia MPV is expected to come loaded with the most modern features in order to take a lead against the competition. A big touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, 6 airbags, a sunroof, 3rd-row AC vents & charging ports, connected car technology, BOSE premium music system, ABS with EBD and other such features might be made available.
Engine & Transmission
The MPV is expected to come powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that will be mated to an IVT as well as a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will also get a 1.5-litre diesel engine that will come mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. These combinations will help buyers choose the best one according to their preference.
Pricing & Launch
The Kia 7-seater MPV is expected to come with a starting price tag of Rs 12 Lakhs and might go up to Rs 22 Lakhs for the top-of-the-line variants. As for the launch, the car is expected to be launched somewhere in early 2022.
