Hyundai Creta is a car that has been always loved in India. The first generation sold like hotcakes and the current one also makes it to the top 10 highest selling cars. Images of the test mules for the Hyundai Creta facelift have been spotted and here is what we expect from this Rs 10 lakh SUV.

Launch

The launch of this Hyundai SUV facelift won’t happen in India soon. In fact, the car has not been spotted in India. The current generation of the Hyundai Creta was introduced first in China as the ix25 in the year 2019. This makes 2022 the proper year for them to expect the facelift. For India, we might see it at the start of 2023 or end of 2022. If the car is ready by the Auto Expo 2022 we could see it at the Hyundai pavilion.

Hyundai Creta Facelift Features

As of now, the Hyundai was the first features loaded SUV in its segment. This gave its first-movers advantage, but the car also did miss out on the features that have become prevalent in the market. We are referring to features like a 360-degree parking camera, better ambient lighting, a fully digital instrument cluster and a heads up display. The car could electric tailgate. We can see many of these features in the competitors and they do give the competition an edge.

New Design

With the Hyundai Creta facelift, we might see a change in the front and rear design. From the sides, the SUV might remain the same. There will be a new alloy design as we can see in the spy shots and this might be the key factor to set it apart. It will have a new front with vertically stacked headlights. The grill will have a new design as we see on the Hyundai Tucson internationally. The changes at the rear are not confirmed but there could be vertically stacked brake lights on the pillar.

Now we do not have an idea of how the interiors will evolve but there won’t is a lot of things that would change. It might get a colour update and the infotainment might have a sleeker design and positioning.

New engines

The Hyundai Creta already has the widest variety of engine on offer. It gets petrol and diesel along with a Turbo Petrol as a sporty offering. There are gearboxes that cater to every type of driver. By the time we see this facelift, there is an expectation of hybrids to enter the Indian SUV market. This leads us to speculate that the Hyundai Creta facelift might come with a Hybrid engine that is focused towards mileage and performance on demand.

Driver Assists

Hyundai Creta facelift might get some of the basic driver assists to make it ready for the future. Lane change monitor, adaptive cruise control and park assist. This technology is expensive and will not be seen on all cars but we do expect it to come on the higher variant of the Hyundai Creta facelift.
