So you are planning to buy a Tata Safari? You want a car with presence, features, a powerful engine, space and great comfort. You have looked at the options in the market and the Hector Plus was not to your liking. So the natural option to gravitate towards was the – Tata Safari. Now the Safari is a good choice but coming in the end of this month, if everything goes according to plan and the lockdown that is place due to the pandemic does not hamper plans – we will see the launch of the Hyundai Alcazar. So should Safari buyers wait for the Alcazar?

Tata Safari

Dimensions and space

The Tata Safari currently has the biggest dimensions in the segment. While Hyundai has not revealed the exact dimensions of the Alcazar, we do know that the wheel base of the car is at 2,760mm. This is more than the Safari which has a wheelbase of 2,741mm. The Hyundai Alcazar will also have 7 and 6 seater configurations. The space in this car will definitely rival the Safari properly.

From what we know, the Alcazar will carry forward a  lot of stuff from the Creta and will also have unique features of its own. The Hyundai Alcazar will get a big 12-inch touchscreen which will be the biggest in the segment. The car will get more features in the second row too with features like wireless charging, a digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, premium music speakers and more. Hyundai Alcazar Pricing

Currently the pricing of the Hyundai Alcazar is still under speculation. But if we were to assume that Hyundai will price this car at Rs 1 lakh or Rs 1.5 lakhs more than the Hyundai Creta, it will be a very closly priced with the Safari. The Creta is currently priced from Rs 11.69 lakhs to Rs 21 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). The Tata Safari starts from Rs 17.86 lakhs and goes till Rs 26.13 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). The Hyundai Alcazar by this estimate might come in a bit cheaper than the Safari.

So should Safari buyers wait for Hyundai Alcazar? Yes, definitely. We would suggest to wait out this Covid-19 wave of the pandemic, wait for the lockdown to ease and go check out both cars when the Alcazar is launched to see which one should you buy. Also till then our review of the Alcazar will be available.
