After a long wait following its first appearance at the Auto Expo 2020, the Skoda Kushaq was finally unveiled recently. Skoda has already declared that the Kushaq has the longest wheelbase in its segment. With this, the brand means that they are focused on the mid-size SUV segment that has competitors like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster. However, since people will look at the Harrier also for its diesel engine, we have brought to you this comparison. The Skoda Kushaq is 4225mm long, 1612mm tall and 1760mm wide. The vehicle has a ground clearance of 188mm. The boot capacity is a 385-litre boot that can be expanded up to 1405-litre. The Tata Harrier, on the other hand, is 4598mm long, 1706mm tall and 1894mm wide with a ground clearance of 205mm.
The Harrier has a wheelbase of 2741mm, whereas the wheelbase of the Kushaq has been kept at 2651mm.
The Skoda Kushaq comes with two engine options; a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder TSI engine which produces 113bhp and 175Nm torque and a much powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine which produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque.
The 1.0-litre petrol unit comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter. The 1.5-litre petrol unit comes mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Skoda Kushaq is not offered with a diesel engine.
The Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre Kryotec Turbocharged diesel engine that produces impressive figures of 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a manual gearbox along with an automatic torque converter unit. The Tata Harrier is not offered with a petrol engine as of now.
The Skoda Kushaq has a lot to offer. The car gets wireless connectivity via Android Auto & Apple Car Play, wireless charging, cruise control, Skoda Connect connected car tech, ambient lighting system, electric sunroof, touch-controlled climate controls, paddle-shifters and ventilated leather front seats to name some.
Harrier, on the other hand, is loaded with features like a panoramic sunroof, 8.8-inch floating touchscreen, 9 JBL Speaker System with Amplifier and Leather Seat Upholstery & Door Pad Inserts, iRA connected car tech.
