Most Fuel Efficient Diesel Cars in 2021
With the rising petrol prices the smart choice is to switch to electric. But are there any good Electric cars out there? Is there a hybrid at a low price? Diesel remains our only option if we are on a budget constraint. Diesel cars are fuel efficient and the prices of diesel are slightly lower than that of petrol. Here are the Most Fuel Efficient Diesel car in the Indian Market!
Hyundai Aura (25.40km/l)
Priced at Rs 7,85,200 (ex showroom) the Hyundai aura offers a good feature loaded cabin with decent boot space. The design of the car is also striking and the 25.40 km/l fuel economy is the best in diesel cars!
Hyundai Aura should be skipped only because its design looks like an after though over the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Also if you are looking for a performance engine in diesel this car should be skipped!
Hyundai Verna (25.00km/l)
Moving on to another Sedan the Hyundai Verna is another fuel efficient diesel car from Hyundai. With an engine of 1.5-litre it manages to churn out a mileage of 25 km/l. Also this engine does not feel sloppy and can pull strongly on the highway.
The Hyundai Verna is priced at Rs 10,75,385 (ex-showroom) making it a steal if you just want a big fuel efficient diesel vehicle.
Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS (25.10km/l)
This is the Hatchback version of the Aura. It gives a mileage of 25.1 km/l with a 1.2-litre engine. Priced at Rs 7,30,500 this car is a good deal.
This too has a similar downside like the Hyundai Aura where it lacks in terms of performance. The 1.2 litre diesel engine is not quick but it can hold pace quite nicely.
Tata Altroz (25.11km/l)
Priced at Rs 6,99,500 the Tata altroz with this 1.5-litre engine makes for a strong diesel car. It gets 5 star safety rating. This makes for a good city car as the torque band is quite good for city duties.
Hyundai i20 (25.20km/l)
Hyundai i20 is priced at Rs 8,19,900 (ex-showroom). This hatchback is offered with 1.5 litre diesel engine. The engine is very good for city and is very fuel efficient on the highway.
The only downside of this car is that it is not offered with an automatic option with the diesel variant.
Honda WRV (23.7 km/l)
The Honda WRV has a 1.5-litre engine which makes 100 bhp and 200 Nm. This car is priced at Rs 9,85,344 in its base variant with the diesel engine.
This is an underrated vehicle which gets hidden among the new launches. The engine has a good drivability but if you want performance then this engine might not be for you.
Kia Sonet (24.1 km/l)
Priced at Rs 9,19,000 (ex-showroom) for the base model the Kia Sonet offers a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The offering of diesel automatic is the key highlight to buy the Kia Sonet.
