5 Expectations from the Hyundai Creta 7-seater
The seven-seater segment in India is slowly gaining popularity thanks to its affordability and performance. For a person who wants to travel with his whole family at once, seven-seater cars are much more practical than expensive SUVs and sedans. Hyundai Creta has remained a best-seller since its launch in India. People are ready to wait for months to purchase this SUV. So to market further on this brand value that Hyundai has developed with the Creta it might bring in the Creta 7-Seater.
New Name and Design
Hyundai has already trademarked the name “Alcazar” and may launch the seven-seater Creta as it. Hyundai Creta 7 seater was earlier spotted testing on international roads. The car spied in India gives us a closer look at things. Let’s start with the front – we can see the same LED DRLs that are available on the Creta. This car also gets a bigger bolder grille and a revised bumper.
In terms of size the car is clearly longer and the similarities in the glass area between the two cars end. We can also expect new alloy wheels. At the rear, there is a new revised bumper and new wrap around taillamps that replace the Creta’s sleeker ones. Apart from this, the Creta 7-seater can be expected to come in distinct colour options and different trim options.

Same Engines
Like the Hyundai Creta, you may get three different engine options to choose from. You have a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine as well. And yes, this will be one of the few SUVs keeping the option of a diesel engine in the BS-VI era. In addition to these engine options, you have four gearbox options to choose from in different combinations – there is a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed IVT transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission and the segment-best 7-speed DCT gearbox. Same Interiors
In terms of interior, the car should be the same as the Creta in terms of dashboard design, buttons, fit and finish. It will also get the panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seat, wireless charging, six-airbags, leatherette seats and BlueLink. Apart from that we expect the car to get 360-degree parking and some extra features to make sure that this car stands away from the regular Creta.
New Dimensions
The most obvious difference will be its overall length, which is likely to be 30mm longer than the 5-seater Creta (4,300mm). Also expect an increase in boot space (with the third-row down) from the standard model’s 430-litre capacity. The option of captain seats will also be an interesting proposition.
Launch and Price
The car is expected to launch by the end of 2021. In terms of pricing it should be close to the Hector Plus and should be here by next year’s festive season. It will rival the upcoming Jeep Compass 7 seater, Tata Gravitas, new Mahindra XUV500 and MG Hector Plus.
