Maruti Toyota Creta Rival – Launch Year?

Hyundai Creta is the top-selling SUV in the Indian Market. The Creta is a good product and the people looking for SUVs in that Price range are keen enough to look for cars which are value for money. The last thing that is missing in this segment is the arrival of Maruti and Toyota which are both coming up with products that decimate the segment. Here is the car that Maruti and Toyota together might bring as a Creta Rival.

In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki India has informed the stock exchange about the revision about its plans for the production of Vitara Brezza at Toyota Plant from 2022. The Maruti Toyota Creta Rival will be manufactured at Toyota Plant in Bidadi Karnataka. This will be first joint development by the Maruti and Toyota.

Platform and Powertrains

The Maruti Toyota Creta Rival will be based on the DNGA platform for the emerging market. We expect it to be 4.3m long which is almost the size of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. There will be 2 cars, one from each brand. The Engine and platform will be the same but the outer shell and design might be slightly different. Also engine would be the 1.5 litre Maruti Suzuki engine. Looking at the trend there would also be a hybrid and turbo petrol option too. Having a diesel in this segment might also be beneficial but there are no talks about this.

Why a Maruti Toyota Creta Rival?

Both these brand do not have an SUV in the very in-demand segment where the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta sit. Also, this has created a gap between the Urban Cruiser and the Fortuner.
